Bessie Smith was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee . She started her career in minstrelsy & vaudeville , she went on to record The St Louis blues & was accompanied by Louis Armstrong on the cornet & Fred Longshaw on the harmonium. The track was written and recorded by the great W.C. Hardy.

...Elton John is another one of my favorites when comes to music. Pop/Rock and some country mixed with this man. Just a good ole fashion courtry man with heart of gold and a song in his heart. I remember when elton john first come out and I had to have every song. I was in college it was all the thing to pop a coin in the ole music box and play tunes by EltonJohn. Its great music for eny time really, Dinning or just listening to when your sitting around or working. Its light and easy! Elton John had was known for having more shoes than eny one ever! He made his way to the top and stayed there for a long time. He is still popular even today...

...The John Lennon Collection-John Lennon is a "greatest hits" compilation that I have mixed feelings about. Granted, each and every one of the nineteen tracks on this album are fine tunes which in one way or another define the musician, vocalist and writer that John Lennon was--my personal view is that he was one of the greatest rock 'n roll musicians of our time. The qualms that I have about this collection arise from the fact that it contains his most commercial tracks--some of the true Lennon gems are not included on this album. I can't recommend this album as being truly representative of his music, simply because some of his more obscure (and best) songs aren't present, but as a collection of his most popular tunes, it fills the bill.
John Lennon was enigmatic, both as a musician and an individual--he wore his heart on his sleeve...
