Pass the Bomb!

Advantages: great game, really gets you thinking
Disadvantages: you can be made to look v.stupid!

I don't know about you lot, but it seems to me that every time we have family over for Christmas or New Year, after dinner we end up playing some sort of board game! This is ok to start with, but does tend to get rather dull after a while. On boxing day of the Christmas just gone, yes you've guessed it - we ended up playing a board game. A member of the family brought it round and it was called Pass the Bomb! Sounds ominous I know (don't worry its not a real bomb!). Well, it was great fun and very different to the usual type of games which go on for hours and people lose interest. The game starts by drawing a card from the pack which is shown to all players. Each card has letters on it and can be two or more letters. A dice is then rolled which tells all players whether the letters shown by the card must be at the start, middle or end ...

Tick tock the bomb went off!

Advantages: Great fun
Disadvantages: Too stressful

Field of yawns

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Appalling story and acting

Ray Kinsella is a farmer in Iowa, married to Annie and they have a child, Karin. One day, Ray is in the fields when he hears a voice: "Build it, and he will come." Initially, he thinks he must be dreaming, but the voice comes back to him, along with a vision of a baseball pitch set into part of his land. He becomes convinced that something great will happen and so ploughs one of his fields and turns it into a baseball pitch. Having spent all their savings on the pitch, the Kinsellas are now in deep financial trouble, but when a team of famous baseball players from years ago turn up to play on the pitch, Ray thinks it is all worth it.
