Fierce Angel Presents Angels Fall [Digipak] - Various Artists

Advantages: Some old favourites, brilliant first album
Disadvantages: very raw, not as polished as later albums (not necessarily a 'disadvantage'!)

......"But I'm still here". OK, not technically the same album (line is from End of All Hope, from Century Child), but a good link, I feel. :) Nightwish are a Finnish metal band. Their debut album, "Angels Fall First" was first released in 1996, but the digipak was released in 2002, along with all previous albums to Century Child. As far as debut albums go, this is pretty good, I think. It feels like the opening act to something great - you get a teaser of what they can do, but their talent and ability is still very raw and untapped. There are a few songs on "Angels..." that are still firm favourites with the band's fans - such as "Beauty and the Beast", which is performed on the album by [former] singer Tarja Turunen and Tuomas (keyboards). ...I first bought this soundtrack after watching the film. I have one word for 2 hours of Heath Ledger : DROOL. The music on the CD is truly inspirational, with stunning tracks form Madness, Letters to Cleo, The Cardigans, Brick, Semisonic, Joan Armatrading and many more fantastic artist's. Sister Hazels 'Your Winter' is beautifully composed and sung, and I got shivers down my spine when i first heard it (and about 10 times after). I can listen to the song over and over and still be mezmorized by the lyrical and rhythmic power of this song. Jessica Riddles 'Even Angels Fall' although not my normal musical prefrence is still one fo my favourite trakcs fomr the album. Although I had never heard of them, Letter to Cleo have a exceptioanl style and I personally love their approach. I would definatley recommend this album to anyone who enjoys... Read review

...I am rather happy with this cd as their are many songs. If you are looking for a Cd you can break to (breakdance) then this is the one to have. Although i found it hard to convert to my phone it is nicely presented and cased with great quality of music...
