50th Anniversary Album - Cliff Richard

Calling all Cliff Richard Fans.

Advantages: lovely christmassy songs
Disadvantages: he has re mixed a lot of them

Mum has always been interested in Cliff since I can remember and we were brought up on how in the 60s she would wear her cardigan back to front as a low backless top as they could not afford a proper one. A few years ago my mums dream came true and she went to see Cliff in his musical. They had really posh seat and my step father was not impressed when mum all of sudden turned into a school girl of the 60s and started to scream and shout. Mum always said it was her dream come true and does not know what over come her, but we all have dreams and crushes as kids and parents still have them too. Well what better Christmas Present could I get her other than Cliff at Christmas. I bought this today from good old Woolworths together with 3 other different cds for Christmas presents and currently they have a buy one get the other half ...

The 50th Law - the new entrepreneur's bible

Advantages: clear, presice how to ideas, easily used
Disadvantages: not for everyone

are key assets. All in all an interesting book which is entertaining in its own right! If you enjoyed the 48 laws, you will love this. But you don't have to read the 48 laws to appreciate this as it is distinct enough to stand on its own. Physically the book is conveniently sized so you can take it anywhere you like, for example on the train, the text is styled with a touch of class and together with the yellowish paper it is printed on it gives it a historical feel. Almost like the follow up to Machiavelli's The Prince. The book does have a somewhat historic effect to it, the yellow paper and whole ancient text feel may well put some off, indeed it looks like a family heirloom even when its fresh out the shop. But the as the old saying goes never judge a book by its cover! After all 50 cent has the largest debut album in hip hop ...

Bovver

Advantages: Classic tracks, diverse, some great versions.
Disadvantages: Not everyone's cup of tea

Joe Brown and the Bruvvers were around in the early to mid sixties. They were not really my sort of thing but Hubby, being slightly older than me, was a fan. Shopping recently he saw a CD, The Very Best of Joe Brown, 50th Anniversary and promptly bought it. This CD shows me, anyway, that many of the tracks were from a slightly earlier period than I had thought. After all 50 years ago it would have been 1958. Joe Brown was a spiky haired youth before spiky hair was ever thought about. He was always seen as an affable cheeky cockney, who looks and seems no different all these years later. Born in 1941 he began his musical career in 1956 with his backing band The Spacemen. This band was to become The Bruvvers. I guess as musicians Joe Brown and The Bruvvers were all under-rated.
