Finally we are no-one by Icelandic popstrels Múm is one of the most sweet sounding, almost childlike albums that i have ever heard.
Presumably if you are looking at this you will already know all the usual comments given about this band, namely that comparisons to fellow Icelanders Sigúr Rós and Björk flow freely alongside descriptions like glacial , sparse and numerous references to Pixies. Needless to say many of these are highly relevent, although i'd suggest that the music is more akin to Boards of Canada fronted by a 5 year old girl, and although that may sound off putting the end result is beautiful.
The vast majority of the album is electronic, using beats, blips and noises from laptop synthesis programmes, lo-fi keyboards, music box-esque chimes and violin and cello strings.
Kristen-Anna's voice is the perfect compliment to this mass of obtuse instruments and creates a high sense of innocence and child like pleasure.
In short, if you are a fan of the above mentioned bands, or are interested in hearing highly original, sweet and beautiful music with many experimental and oft-unused instruments than this is the perfect introduction
