Advantages: A band on their way up Disadvantages: Still being formed
...Talking Heads was one of the handful of American bands who were around at the same time as the new wave emerged in the UK in 76 and 77 who enjoyed credibility whilst still being musically competent.
Their debut album, Talking Heads: 77, was released in July 1977 to rave reviews. The band’s quirky, eccentric sound was captured on tracks like Uh-Oh, Love Comes To Town, which took an ambivalet look at romance, the haunting, Lou Reed like Happy Day and the song that was virtually to become their anthe, Psycho Killer. Also released as a single, Psycho Killer took Byrne’s jittery presence to its extreme: “I can’t seem to face up to the facts, I’m tense and nervous and I can’t relax, I can’t sleep because my bed’s on fire, don’t touch me I’m a real live wire...”
The album was an instant modern classic, selling well and firing the Heads...

Advantages: It's Amon Amarth, Two Classic Metal Tracks On This Disc Disadvantages: Mostly Average Songs, Too Similar To Last Release
...I always find it a pain when a band I love releases a classic album, as when the time comes around for them to record a follow-up expectations are high, and what gets released is invariably a disappointment. Sweden's Amon Amarth landed on the scene back in 1998 with their legendary (within Death Metal circles at least) debut album Once Sent From The Golden Hall. They returned just a year later with The Avenger, an album which saw the band hone their sound to a vicious metallic point, taking the talent displayed on their debut album and combining it with a matured song writing prowess to set a new standard within the genre. Two years later and the band returned with this album, The Crusher, a malicious beast of an album packed to the brim with nine tracks of blisteringly heavy metal. There is also a version of the album with a bonus...

Advantages: Beautiful tracks with melodic solos and harmonic vocals Disadvantages: Tracks 9 -11 and the fact that we know its the last album with Perry
...)
In my opinion the best tracks on the album are 1 to 8 and 12 to 15 the other 3 are mediocre in comparison to the rest of the album. The first song that needs to be mentioned is When you love a Woman whihc is Journeys only grammy nominated track in there history and unfortunately lost out to the Beatles free bird. All of the songs offer something different to journeys earlier work as by this time Steve Perry is 47 and as all singers mature so do there voices whihc meant that Steve couldnt reach thoses soaring notes reached on for instance the Escape album of 81, but this dosnt matter as he captured his new vocal chords in a new sound which in my opinion stands on par with there success in the 70's and 80's. In this album we also see the Golden Lineup back in action featuring:
Neal Schon - Lead Guitar
Steve Perry - Lead Vocals
Steve Smith...
