Advantages: Relaxing story telling music with a bit of heart Disadvantages: Too boring
...OK album, with a nice mix of different artist most of which i have never hear of before. As you can probably tell I'm not usually into this kind of music but being someone always looking to expand my musical horizons, I thought i would give it a go but was not too impressed.
Most of the songs featured were not too impressive, many of which sounded very boring and generic for the genre.
Track 15, Green Fields of France - Furey & DaveyArthur was probably one of the most impressive tracks on the album; this song featured delicately sung lyrics and an impressive story which i think is based on world war 2. Some of the other tracks were almost up to this standard but were too boring and didn't catch my attention....

Advantages: A reasonably good return to form Disadvantages: Mathew Wright!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
...Finally after many years of anticipation, legal wrangling, falling out with former band members (not that they were on the best of terms with some of them in the first place and learning about file management on windows Hawkwind return with a brand spanking new studio album. The expectations of this one are high, especially since they have been performing snippets from it in their live set for the past couple of years, and dam fine snippets they have been.
This is their first studio release since 1997 disappointing Distant Horizons and features guest appearances by the legendary Arthur Brown, Lene Lovich, and rather worryingly Mathew Wright. On top of that the core line up of Dave Brock (Guitar), Alan Davey (Bass) and Richard Chadwick (Drums) is augmented by Simon house (Violin, Keyboards), Jason Stuart (keyboards), former young...

Advantages: Genius, Kelly Jones has a unique voice Disadvantages: May be a little rough
...favourite track, this starts off about being in Britain in autumn, with leaves on the line etc, the beat is excellent. Then they seem to recall an event, some kind of missing local boy in the photograph, it’s a very strange story and very vivid if you ask me. Full of passion and skill… this song makes me smile.
Then it all slows down with the sublime “traffic”, I think Kelly just thought he’d sit down for a while and write about life and his vocals are perfect, genius…
Track 6, not up to you, another rough rock song, sung very uniquely, not my favourite track, but quite catchy. Track 7, “check my eyelids for holes”, they try to rock harder here, bit dodgy if U ask me, but gets better as you listen further, if it wasn’t for the good vocals, this wouldn’t be so good. Track 8 , same size feet, another sublime track, another song about life...
