Advantages: Hearing what then were the guitar legends of the future Disadvantages: None
The band to start all bands...This album contains the best from the Yardbirds throughout time including tracks with Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck when they were with the band. The songs which stand out are ultimately FOR YOUR LOVE, HEART FULL OF SOUL, EVIL HEARTED YOU, SHAPES OF THINGS, THE TRAIN KEPT A-ROLLIN', AIN'T GOT YOU AND SMOKESTACK LIGHTNING but loads more are included on this double album set. Many bands have been influenced by this British Premier R&B rock band yet they covered their fair share of great artists themselves. Blues legend tracks - John Lee Hooker's BOOM BOOM and Jimmy Reed's BABY WHATS WRONG are also included. This is a great way to hear what ultimately is the best of the Yardbirds. ...
Advantages: inteligent varied original Disadvantages: their last record as a group
Some are born great,as the saying goes ,others have greatness
thrust upon them, and in the case of The Specials it seems not only did they achieve greatness with their debut album "Specials",but had even more greatness thrust upon them by an over expectant music press and ravenous fan base
all eager for more of their punk/ska riotous rapture ,however in
the spirit of true greatness and wanton defiance they delivered
"More Specials" in the autumn of 1980,and in direct conflict to its title could well have been called "Less Specials "
In the twelve months which had elapsed between their debut and this daring follow up the musical landscape had changed a great deal ,the fury of punk which gave rise to the groups foundations was now a fading memory as new sounds and movements splinterd into a varied buffet of sounds and movements ...
Advantages: Great songs in following Across Five Aprils style Disadvantages: Not a full album
?Living in the moment? (2004) is the third release from Across Five Aprils after their 2003 release of ?A Tragedy In Progress? and the 2002 ?Cut Me And I?ll Bleed Rock N Roll?.
This is a five track EP which shows off a great Across Five Aprils emo sound with some hardcore parts but it does not involve as much hardcore sounds in the vocals and in the music such as the riffs and drumming as much as the previous 'A tragedy in Progress? and the later 2006 album 'Collapse'.
The first song on the album is 'Saving Seats' which kicks in with some guitar sound effects and then with a drum kick it starts in to a good guitar riff with backing drums which is added to with some more repetitive guitar playing and then with the singing vocals playing in it adds another depth to the music which is very much in the heavy emo scene, then ...

Album Notes
The 2003 edition of FIVE LIVE YARDBIRDS contains 9 bonus tracks. The Yardbirds: Keith Relf (vocals, harmonica); Eric Clapton, Chris Dreja (guitar); Paul "Sam" Samwell-Smith (bass); Jim McCarty (drums). Recorded live at Craw Daddy, Richmond, England and the Marquee Club, London, England in 1963-64. Includes liner notes by Greg Russo. Few British Beat groups attempted in-concert recordings, but this proved a natural vehicle for the Yardbirds. One of the era's most popular live attractions, the set captures their exciting interpretation of British R&B. Their arrangements of blueswailing material by Howlin' Wolf, Bo Diddley and Slim Harpo are exceptional and their prowess as musicians is immediately self-evident. Keith Relf proves himself an accomplished harmonica player while Eric Clapton's guitarwork lays the foundation for his future recordings. Where many contemporaries struggled to complete wholly satisfying live albums, the Yardbirds did so with breath to spare.
