Many bands have been influenced by this British Premier R&B rock band yet they covered their fair share of great artists themselves. Blues legend tracks - John Lee Hooker's BOOM BOOM and Jimmy Reed's BABY WHATS WRONG are also included. This is a great way to hear what ultimately is the best of the Yardbirds. ...

More Specials -The Specials (re-mastered )

Disadvantages: their last record as a group

Some are born great,as the saying goes ,others have greatness thrust upon them,and in the case of The Specials it seems not only did they achieve greatness with their debut album "Specials",but had even more greatness thrust upon them by an over expectant music press and ravenous fan base all eager for more of their punk/ska riotous rapture ,however in the spirit of true greatness and wanton defiance they delivered "More Specials" in the autumn of 1980,and in direct conflict to its title could well have been called "Less Specials " In the twelve months which had elapsed between their debut and this daring follow up the musical landscape had changed a great deal ,the fury of punk which gave rise to the groups foundations was now a fading memory as new sounds and movements splinterd into a varied buffet of sounds and movements ...

Across Five Aprils - Living In The Moment.

Advantages: Great songs in following Across Five Aprils style
Disadvantages: Not a full album

?Living in the moment? (2004) is the third release from Across Five Aprils after their 2003 release of ?A Tragedy In Progress? and the 2002 ?Cut Me And I?ll Bleed Rock N Roll?. This is a five track EP which shows off a great Across Five Aprils emo sound with some hardcore parts but it does not involve as much hardcore sounds in the vocals and in the music such as the riffs and drumming as much as the previous 'A tragedy in Progress? and the later 2006 album 'Collapse'. The first song on the album is 'Saving Seats' which kicks in with some guitar sound effects and then with a drum kick it starts in to a good guitar riff with backing drums which is added to with some more repetitive guitar playing and then with the singing vocals playing in it adds another depth to the music which is very much in the heavy emo scene, then ...
