Bee Thousand is by far the best GBV record-and out of a potential 20+ albums to choose from thats no mean feat.Unlike the majority of their earlier records this LP has no weak link.Earlier efforts concentrated on the lo-fi noise,usually swamping everything else out.On Bee Thousand the sound is just right.GBV were never better than here
It kicks in with the glorious Hardcore UFOs and continues in this psychedelic/beatles/garage/sebadohish/POP/weirdness for twenty some tracks.It is the best example of what lo-fi could have done if it had pulled its finger out.Kicker of Elves,I am a Scientist,Tractor Rape Chain,Her Psychology Today-the titles say it all.The lyrics say even more.One of the best underground LPs of the 90s.
i recommend this for any lo-fi addict,and really anyone who gives a monkeys about music thats a bit...out there.

This opinion is going to be hard for me to write, as I used to like River Island clothing, but things appear to have changed lately. I used to spend a fortune every month about 2 years ago, but since just before their image change/re-branding (whatever you like to call it), they seem to have a really poor and limited supply of clothing. What clothes they do seem to have, appears very bland and boring. All the clothes look the same, and they just don't seem to have moved from the 90's style. I can only assume that they've moved the focus from the younger comsumer, and aimed it towards the thirty-something-married-with-two-kids-type (sorry to sound like I'm sterotyping there!)
The main problem I have with River Island, isn't one of their own brand, its Kickers. Now I actually own a hell of a lot of it. But it's not so much ...
