Advantages: Beautifully written, thought provoking & keeps your train of thought Disadvantages: Like all Binchy books, it comes to an end.
I freely admit to loving Maeve Binchy books, I have been a huge fan of her books since I was a teenager and special occassions (holidays usually) call for me buying one of her books.
The Cooper Beech was one book I had had difficulty in obtaining for a while and was please to find it in a second hand book stall in Bath, the book itself told a tale, the spine was well work and loved, a testiment to Binchy's writing.
The book is set in Ireland as usual, in the late forties and early fifties & the focus being on the village of 'Shancarrig' and the lives and and affairs of it's residents, both young and old. The Copper Beech is a tree that stands at the heart of Shancarrig, in the school grounds. As much as the school is at the heart of the community, the tree is the focus for the children of the town, this is the tree where, when ...
Advantages: some parts of the film are interesting to watch Disadvantages: No jokes, no nudity, no real action.
a loan shark criminal gangster to terrorise victims and get his job done.

The film highlights the criminal backgrounds of the robbers, and the people behind the robbery as criminals, drug traffickers, brothel owners and prostitution participants in one form or another. Advantages: Good book, in depth characters Disadvantages: None
This book is the latest book from a long line of fantastic novels from Maeve Binchy the Irish novelist. Her next novel is due out next year. She is well known for Circle of Friends which was made into a film starring Minnie Driver. Her other novels include Copper Beech, Tara Road, Evening Class, Firefly Summer, Scarlet Feather and Quentins.
Most of her novels are set in Ireland a country very close to her heart. Some of the characters in her novels feature in more than one book which I like as you feel you know these people well. I received this book last year as a birthday present, I have the hardback book but it is now available as a paperback and retails in Amazon for only £3.99.
