Album Notes: 1973's FLYING TEAPOT is a GONG milestone. It's the first installment in their legendary "Radio Gnome Trilogy" and a transitional point between the underground psychedelia of CAMEMBERT ELECTRIQUE and the artier, more ethereal sound they later developed. TEAPOT is more visceral, less cerebral than its successors, and the catchy ensemble riffs of CAMEMBERT are still present. The arrival of virtuoso guitarist Steve Hillage and synth wizard Tim Blake represented a great leap forward, though. Blake concentrated exclusively on ambient electronic effects and soundscapes a la early Hawkind, leaving harmonic development to the other band members. Hillage's fleet-fingered jazz-rock solos and arsenal of effects upped the musicianship a notch and reinforced the spacy jazz elements already in place.

Advantages: A good mix of songs Disadvantages: Doesnt help you get through the housework
...A cd thats a couple of years old now but still fun to listen to.
I mean this cd says its meant to help you through the housework but I personally dont think it really does,if anything it distracts you, because you just start singing along to all the great tracks this album has to offer, you get caught up in the music and completely lose track of what you were doing - maybe a good thing in a way :-)
Housework vol1 is a double album that has some cracking songs that you just dont seem to hear on the radio anymore such as The Beach Boys - Help Me Rhonda and Don McLeans - American Pie.
The songs on this album just make you feel good and really help to lift your spirits, but I honestly think its marketed wrong, this is a feel good album for anyone just not people doing the housework.I dont think the title of the album really represents...

Advantages: mix of songs, no obvious filler Disadvantages: maybe childish in parts
...Mcfly, having recently split from their record label, made a deal with the Mail on Sunday to distribute their newest album, 'Radio:Active' with the newspaper, an aim to reach it's vast readership. Having had great success with their previous three albums, and a greatest hits compilation, as well as sell-out tours accross Britain, they have released a new album to fully establish themselves as the premiere pop/rock band in the UK, a genre they have dominated since Busted split.
Radio:Active starts with a 70's feeling song, 'Do Ya, an upbeat number giving Danny, Tom and Dougie to demonstarte the harmonies they specialise in. It is an excellent track to open with, full of fun and synonomous with the style that has made McFly the force they are. They slow the tone with second song 'Falling in love', a classily put together mid-paced song...

Advantages: Some excellent performance, shows the pure raw talents of some of the UKs top artists Disadvantages: some weaker tracks and some covers that dont work for me
...I have to admit I have been waiting in anticipation for the release of a live lounge CD for a number of years. My mornings are often much happier after hearing the Jo Whiley show, partly for her sexy voice (unfortunatly not featured on the CD) and for the amazing live lounge sessions.
For those of you that dont listen to radio1 mid-morning during the week, Jo Whiley often invites artists into the studio for a chat and to perform a few tracks. These are often stripped down accoustic versions of thier most famous songs and an inpromptu cover which can range from the sublimly beautiful to the hilariously funny.
This CD compramises the best performances from the last couple of years and there should be something for everybody on this list. The songs range from moving acoustic versions of artists well known hits (KT tunstall other...
