Advantages: Fantastic Singer/Songwriter/Musician Disadvantages: The CD has to come to an end (unless you use repeat button)
...it was perilous underneath".
Stones in the Road - the title song tells of how life used to be and how different it is now in modern times with a beautiful melody.
A Keeper for every flame - A toe-tapper of a song about being guarded and not giving all of yourself to a relationship "Sometimes its a fire burning out of control/Sometimes its a candle burning long and low"
Tender when I want to be - a song about finding the right person Trisha Yearwood ... ...- an upbeat number about a woman pulling the strings and being in charge in the relationship. Lee Roy Parnell plays guitar on this track.
The last word - self explanatory this one, a relationship breaking down, the woman walking away giving the man the last word, I think this is the weakest song on this album
The end of my pirate days - this one is about leaving a life of adventure behind and living out the rest of your days in solitude - "And ...
Advantages: You Can listen to it with your children with no worries about language or content, for the most Disadvantages: I think I enjoyed her voice more when she was younger.
This cd brought me back to being 10 years old when LeAnn's first major album came out. I like that you can hear how she's developed her own sound over the years, as she has grown from girl to woman. The lyrics are good and they get better with the ones that she is directly involved in writing. The whole album is a high quality recording. As far as being compared to others in her field, I'd say it fares pretty well. I mean, considering the fact that ...
Advantages: Enjoyable listening Disadvantages: Will not appeal to everybody

Advantages: a few truly superb songs Disadvantages: A few weaker links.
Rather a morbid title I realise, but it is in fact one of the tracks from what has proved to be quite a good album. Being something of a folk devotee, I had approached Kate Rusby with scepticism - she's 'made it' into normal music outlets, which must mean she has sold out and just done an album of easy listening? Well not actually quite true. This is certainly the sort of album that non-folkies might get along with, but its true to some good traditional ... ...'proper' folk - spend any time in a folk club and you soon find that most of the traditional songs are about sex and/or death (except for the ones about fishing, but there it is.) "Sir Eglamore" an old, and rather silly song about a knight and a dragon, set to music by Kate. It has all the 'lanky down dillies' you could possibly ask for in a folk song, (I have no idea how anyone sings anything like that whilst keeping a straight face.) "As I roved ...
