A cracking album from one of the u.k top folk artists. This album shows a true cross section of work from Bert's repertoire. Personally, i like every track on the album and as a fellow musician Bert's arrangements are exceptionally good and complex! There are the traditional tracks like "Black waterside" (Led Zeplin used Bert's arrangement for one of their own tracks,) aswell as reading of "Nottamun Town" and the murder ballad "Bruton Town." Advantages: Cohens influencial greatness, lovely songs
Disadvantages: ...No Hallelujah

OPINION I first heard of Leonard Cohen at a friends house as a record, the song was "Suzanne" and I loved it. I remembered the name and to my delight I found his CD in the Woolworths price crunch a while back now. Disadvantages: nothing!

This was the first of Blackshaw's albums I owned and have loved it every single time I've played... I'm surprised I haven't worn it out! Its composed by the young James Blackshaw purely on 12 string guitar with other drone like instruments involved.
