Advantages: Has a good variation of songs for Black Metal lovers and the music is of good quality compared to other artists. Disadvantages: Simular to Cradle of Filth in musical content and in lyrics.
...Firstly lets discuss what's actually on the CD as this is actually what you buy it for. Not the cover, or any extras. All together there are 11 tracks: Allegiance, Progenies of the Great Apocalypse, Lepers Among Us, Vredesbyrd, For the World to Dictate Our Death, Blood Hunger Doctrine, Allehelgens Død I Helveds Rike, Cataclysm Children, Eradication Instincts Defined, Unorthodox Manifesto and Heavenly Perverse. Although some of DimmuBorgir's music sounds familiar to that of Cradle of Filth's, there are some tracks on this album which really stand out.
When I first purchased this album, the song 'Progenies of the Great Apocalypse' seemed to stand out as it was really original to any other black metal I had previously listened to, thus it is my favourite track. In addition, this track has a strong rhythm to it and the music becomes...

Advantages: Great musicianship, classic songs, clear production Disadvantages: Some weak tracks
..."Enthrone Darkness Triumphant" is yet another fantastic album from Symphonic Metal masters, DimmuBorgir.
I found this album to be highly enjoyable and bursting with talent and originality. The band clearly demonstrate that they are masters of their craft, with the majority of the songs here being laced with catchy guitar hooks, beautiful keyboard passages and empowered blast beat drumming, all tightly and flawlessly executed. This album supplies some of the band's greatest and most memorable material in the form of the tracks 'Mourning Palace" "In Death's Embrace" and "Master Of Disharmony"
There are, of course, a few duds to be found here, in particular "Relinquishment of Spirit and Flesh"
The production on this album is excellent, providing some of the raw energy necessary for the execution of this style whilst maintaining clarity...

Advantages: Raw powerful overwhelming black metal with extras! Disadvantages: Isnt Any
...First released January 28, 2002
When i first heard that Nicholas Barker (ex Cradle of Filth) was joining Dimmuborgir i knew something special was going to happen. Excellent thrash guitar riffs rip throughout this album accompanied by keyboard and synthesizer pieces which only add to the atmosphere.
The album starts with a misleading, almost tranquil instrument, 'Fear and Wonder', before launching at high speed into 'Blessings Upon the Throne of Tyranny', a masterpiece of Dimmu's compositional prestige and skill at playing their instruments. The next few tracks are all black metal artworks with speedy guitars and the incredible vocal talents of Shagrath. Track 6 'Puritania', an experimental track from Shagrath and Mustis, using distorted voices and synth effects, a complete shy away from the style of the album but fits in well as a rest...
