Advantages: Gorgeous location, so much to see and do Disadvantages: None!
I've lived in the Forest of Dean my whole life (nearly 33 years) and completely taken it for granted! It's really only been in the last few years, since we had our son, that we have started to enjoy our home, with it's breathtaking scenery, abundance of family activities and friendly atmposphere, so I thought I would share it all with you. Brace yourselves, it's a long one!
Here comes the history bit!
The Forest of Dean was firstly recognised by the Saxons and covers 110 square kilometers or 27000 acres of woodland. It is one of the few remaining Royal forests left in England and has a rich history as a favourite hunting ground for many of our historical kings. The vast amount of woodland is home to many animals and birds, but Forest pride is mainly given to the beautiful fallow deer. There are about 400 here, of which ...

Ciao members have rated this review on average: very helpful Review of The Forest of Dean
Advantages: Easy to use, fast effects which can be seen with in a matter of days Disadvantages: none
I have had this problem with my eyes now for years and years and never knew that there were products that existed for this. I would have just suffered from this problem for the rest of my life until i was told about this by one of my friends. i have been using this product now for 3 weeks twice a day once in the morning and once in the evening. It is so easy to apply, you just use your little finger to dab it on around and under your eyes until it has been absorbed.
I actually noticed a small difference after the first day and was so impressed that now after 3 weeks they have all but gone.
This is a problem many people have and i would highly recommend this product to anyone who suffers from dark circles under there eyes. ...
Advantages: Fascinating to watch monkeys at close quarters Disadvantages: Poorly designed facilities, cafe expensive, not a whole day's experience
it would be a case of trying to spot them as they lurked behind the branches. I was genuinely shocked when we came across about ten small monkeys sitting in the middle of a grassed area just a few metres away from where we stood, completely unperturbed by their human visitors. It was even more of a surprise when the monkeys started (play) fighting amongst themselves and a group of them went racing across the path almost knocking my little boy over!
We now know what to expect and whilst I initially felt that this wouldn't necessarily be a place that you would want to go back to, we do tend to go back once every year or so and always find it an enjoyable experience which the adults enjoy as much as the kids seem to. I'm deliberately avoiding using the phrase 'day out' as the time you'll spend at the forest itself is definitely not a full ...

Album Notes
Contains 2 LPs on 1 CD. The popular multi-ethnic '60s potpourri of pop, folk, paganism, and pure whimsy purveyed by Donovan and the Incredible String Band created a demand for similar sounds. Island Records snapped up Incredible String Band associates Dr. Strangely Strange, while EMI found its own band of merry minstrels in one of UK disc-jockey John Peel's favorites, Forest. The band crafted two wonderful albums, collected in this double-disc set, then returned to their home county of Lincolnshire, leaving their music for the ages. 1969's FOREST overcomes rough production with sublime harmonies, inventive arrangements, and strong songwriting. These dozen tracks, brimming with the band's beguiling blend of guitars, hand percussion, pastoral pipes, Pan flutes, and organs, are every bit as timeless as the country airs of outfits such as Fairport Convention and Steeleye Span. "Sylvie," "Nothing Else Will Matter," and "Fading Light" even embrace pop choruses. 1970's FULL CIRCLE incorporates crystalline production into an even stronger set. Forest, working with producer Malcolm Jones, here opt for sparer, more adventurous arrangements, borrowing freely from progressive, country, and psychedelic forms. The fragile fairytale "Bluebell Dance" stands out, but each of these 10 tracks is a masterpiece.
Album Reviews
Mojo (6/01, p.153) - "...With half a dozen cracking tunes, excellent harmonies and a liberal sprinkling of harpsichords and harmoniums....Teh Incredible String Band clearly had an impact on their debut..."
