Advantages: One of the most amazing voices ever. Disadvantages: umm.. that there isn't more?
...if they're not depressed' she says!), quite a few traditional pieces and a number of instrumentals. (The extended Dobro solos by Jerry Douglas (apparently the pre-eminent player of this instrument) were I guess my least favourite parts of the disk, although I don't dislike any of this disk.
My favourites on the disk?
- Let Me Touch You for Awhile
- The Lucky One
- Baby Now That I've Found You
- Tiny Broken Heart
- Stay
- Ghost in This House,
- ForgetAbout It
- Maybe
- We Hide & Seek
- But You Know I Love You
- New Favorite
Okay, so you've guessed its pretty much everything on the disk! I can't help it - I'm a convert!
So... if you're looking for some new music to listen to and are in a happy frame of mind (so you wont get too depressed by the subject matter!) I'd highly recommend both DVDs and the music of AlisonKrauss and Union...

Advantages: Great mix of two great artists Disadvantages: Bit of a slow tempo album
...I bought this for my partner as she loves Led Zepplin (Robert Plant being the Lead Singer). I am a fan of country/folk so I found AlisonKrauss appealing. This album is full of very slow ballad type songs with a couple of lively exceptions. But don't let that put you off. This is a very good album but I would reccommend that you listen to the whole thing in one go (possibly whilst in the bath or something similar) as this is a great collection to relax to. Most of the songs have so much emotion sung into them and this makes great listening. A personal favourite of mine is Killing the Blues just because the tone of both their voices really harmonises on this particular track.
You can tell they didn't make this for the money. This is about loving classic songs and putting their own twists on it.
Great album....

Advantages: Some great songs, great voice Disadvantages: Read the review
...in music is Country. Actually, behind rock, country and bluesgrass music is probably my favourite style and forms a significant proportion of my music collection. Artists such as Randy Travis, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Nickelcreek and a host of others feature regularly on my Zen MP3 player. Another artist that I have enjoyed for a few years now is AlisonKrauss.
I forget exactly how I stumbled across it, but the first AlisonKrauss song I heard was a cover of ‘You’re The Lucky One’. Whilst I enjoyed her singing and arrangement of the song, there was nothing about it that really struck me a particularly special and so I happily listened to that one song, with a couple of others, thinking nothing of it. A couple of years or so after hearing that track I came across a duet she did with Brad Paisley, (I was actually looking for Paisley stuff...
