PS3 slim

Advantages: Blu-ray, free online, nice extras like vidzone & iplayer. Almost silent operation
Disadvantages: Rubbish controller, still expensive, online nowhere near as good as xbox live

nothing on the system excited me that I couldn't already get for my 360! The exceptions to this rule being Killzone 2 & Resistance. In fairness, the PS3 hasn't been out as long as the 360, so I'm guessing the situation will improve as time progresses. Extras-Some nice ideas here from Sony, Vidzone isn't bad, altho the selection is a bit limited, movie trailers can be downloaded in 1080P(the 360 just gives a streamed SD trailer) but not full audio. Built in i-player is nifty altho not much use to me, as I'm on cable which gives me it in normal tv quality, but I guess it'll work for sky/freeview people out there. Yeah, they threw in a browser, but don't waste your time, fire up your PC & get what you are doing a lot faster, they have made a decent effort to work it, but for me, it needs a zoom(my apologies if there is one & I've missed it) as I ...

PS3 Slim

Advantages: Excellent graphics, blu ray player, dvd upscaler, built in wi-fi, free internet gaming
Disadvantages: Still quite expensive

i have now owned my PS3 slim for just over a month, and could not be more pleased with my purchase. As a gaming machine it is fantastic, and in my opinion far better than the xbox 360. Unlike the xbox 360 the ps3 comes with built in wireless and internet gaming is free, which to me is a massive advantage for the ps3. the extra features on ps3 are vast, theres the blu ray player which gives outstanding picture quality with a 1080p tv, not only that but the ps3 slim is also a dvd upscaler, brilliant if like me you have a vast dvd collection that you can't afford to upgrade to blu ray. One of the most recent firmware updates gives you the ability to watch bbc iplayer through the ps3, no more having to watch to missed episodes of top gear on a tiny laptop screen. The good bits and the bad bits

Advantages: Brilliant graphics and a fantastic range of additional features
Disadvantages: Cant play music in-game

The Sony Playstation 3, probably one of the best games conoles ever made, with fantastic graphics and great features, this matches or even passes the examples set by other consoles such as the 'xbox360'. In my opinion, one of the best features of the playstation 3 has to be 'Playstation Home', this is almost like a virtual life, you make your own avatar/character and thats it, you have the whole world of Playstation to explore. 'Playstation Home' includes locations such as a shopping center, cinema and personal apartments to decorate. This virtual life is constantly getting updated and new locations such as the 'EA complex' and the 'Xi hunt' have recently been added. I think one only feature the Playstation 3 offers is that you cant play music whilst in-game. I think this is a crital point to making this the best console as nearly every ...
