If Ring magazine is the world champion of boxing magazine it's big European rival is British based Boxing News that is now celebrating it's 100th year in production. It's currently a weekly magazine (though it's a registered paper) priced at £2.80 and released on a Friday ever week. Although the history of how it's become what it is, is an interesting story that saw one of my personal hero's Harry Mullan become it's editor for quite some time before his very untimely death, this review will stick to what the magazine currently is.
It's currently almost full of regular features, like most magazines and it's opening article titled ?Fighting Talk? is written by current editor Claude Abrams and although not always a fan of his views an opinions it's often a well written piece to open the magazine. It's almost certainly based on just ...

Advantages: It is quite funny Disadvantages: There is quite a bit of blood and guts

THE CAST
------------
An interesting cast, the most recognisable member of which to me was Tim McInnery, who I remember from the BLACKADDER TV series many yearsago. McInnery plays the manager of the sales team, and he comes across as a very ineffective manager, much in the mould of David Brent from TV's THE OFFICE.
McInnery's 2nd in command is played by Andy Nyman, and is very much played as a sucking-up character to the boss - he also reminded me very much of Gareth from the original UK version ...

Additional personnel: Marvin McFadden (trumpet); Linda Tillery, Jeanie Tracy (background vocals). Recorded at The Site, San Rafael, California. A 1994 release by '80s favorites Huey Lewis And The News, FOUR CHORDS AND SEVERAL YEARS AGO is like a recreation of the average cover band on the '60s fraternity circuit. These 17 songs include R&B classics of the '50s and early '60s--the New Orleans swing of Ernie K-Doe's "Mother-in-Law," Fats Domino's "Blue Monday," and Big Joe Turner's "Shake Rattle and Roll"--and a version of the classic ballad "Stagger Lee" that owes much to the Lloyd Price hit. Lewis and band bash out the songs with evident joy and little posturing, and the sloppiness suits the bar-band vibe much more than the slickness of albums like SMALL WORLD or FORE Though it wasn't a commercial success, FOUR CHORDS is a big fan favorite.
