This has got to be one of my favourite albums ever!
Franz ferdinand are a Glasgow based indie style band, and this is their debut album. The album starts with Jacqueline, one of the most catchy songs - with the chorus it's always better on holiday, so much better on holiday. This track has been used on various TV ad campaigns, including Tennants festivals.
This is followed by Tell her tonight, another catchy guitar based track with a singalong chorus.
Take me out follows, one of the single releases from the album. This song captures their sound perfectly, and most of the tracks on the album are in the same style. It's a typical guitar rocky/punky track, with a singalong chorus.
The dark of the matinee follows, slightly slower with less energy, but an equally singalong chorus - and a mention of Terry Wogan!
Auf Achse follows, in a similar vein, slightly slower than some of the previous tracks, with the piano making an apperance, but with the typical singalong chorus
Cheatng on you is one of the few tracks on this album that doesn't have a catchy chorus, although it's a punky energetic song.
This fire is another slightly slower track, but the catchy chorus is back!
Darts of pleasure follows the same mould as the rest of the album. Slightly punky indie style music with a catchy chorus.
Michael is unqiue in some regards because of it's lyrics - it's boy on boy, not your typical boy meets girl lyrics.
The last 2 tracks, come on home and 40ft don't disappoint, and are in the typical Franz Ferdinand style.
I found this review hard to write, as Franz Ferdinand have an unqiue sound, and this follows through all the tracks on the album, meaning that all the tracks have some similar sounds to them. If you loved the singles, you won't be disappointed, if not, this album isn't for you. Yes, they have a samey sound, but each track sounds unique, and it's a fun singalong album. Well worth a listen

Franz Ferdinand were ok... until I saw them. They are a bunch of british emo - premature combover - band of weird guys who are very smart but look ridiculous. Take Me Out is one of the few songs I like from the album, until you realise that most of the song is the same lyrics repeated over and over again. The itnro starts cool, but when it gets to the main part of the song, the main riff, listen to how many times they say 'I say don't you know, You say you don't know, I say... take me out'. The only people who can get away with that is Kings of Leon, because they are cool.

Good review just could have done with a bit more information on what you particularly like about this or dislike and maybe bands that are similar.
