Tweenies has been on our television screens since 1999 and has become a household name in the arena of childrens entertainment. In Tweenies we follow the adventures of Milo, Fizz, Jake and Bella. We also meet Max and Judy who are the adults that look after them as well as their two talking dogs. The programme is set in the home of Max, which acts as a nursery for the four children. The four Tweenies are oversized characters that are purple, blue, orange and yellow in skin colour. As well as this they wear bold recognisable clothing. Each character has unique traits and looks that are endearing to the viewer.
Milo - Milo is a fun loving purple faced Tweenie. He wears a blue top and dark blue shorts and is ocnstantly exploring the gardens of the nursery and involving himself in imaginary play.
Jake - Jake is an orange skinned Tweenies with blue clothes covered in yellow spots. He is always getting himself into mischief and is followed around everywhere by his friend Doodles the dog.
Fizz - Fizz is a yellow skinned female Tweenie - she has dark brown hair and wears a pink dress wiht flower print on and purple shoes. She loves to play make believe with her dolls and has regular imaginary tea parties.
Bella - Bella is a blue skinned female Tweenie -she has yellow hair that is pulled back with a bow and wear a red flowery top and yellow dungarees with a singleflower print on the front. She is a very strongminded individual and is prone to tantrums and strops. She goes through a stressful period when she becomes a big sister and has to adapt to being one of two children now.
Max and Judy are the adults at the nrusery, and they look after the Tweenies and make sure that they do not harm themselves, and they try to keep them out of trouble.
Doodles and Izzles are the two dogs at the nursery - Doodles is the longest running canine character and Izzles came along later. It has taken along time for Doodles and Izzles to see eye to eye, and they have created many problems between them due to hostility and dislike.
Friends Forever Tweenies is the first album to be released by the Tweenies and contains the songs that they sing in the animated TV series. The songs include the Tweenies soundtrack song "Hey! Hey! Are you ready to play?"
This is a complete list of the songs included:
1.: No 1 2.: Right Here Right Now 3.: Jump 4.: Favourite Time 5.: Sisters Sweeter Than Candy 6.: We're Gonna Have A Party 7.: Bananas 8.: Hey Hey Are You Ready To Play (Tweenies theme) 9.: Best Friends Forever 10.: Do The Lollipop 11.: Birthday Song 12.: Starlight 13.: Thanks For The Music -----------------------------------------------------------------
I found that the songs were actually good to listen to - the songs had great tempo and the words were well thought out and enjoyable - it is not only my son in our house who hums or dances along to this! All of the songs are sung by the Tweenies and it will be easy for your child to recognise which character is singing a certian verse or line. Also the lyrics are easy for a small child to sing along with,
I feel that this album is worth every penny that it costs to buy it - its fun for children to sing and dance along to whilst playing or eating a meal and affords you time to pay attention to pressing tasks around the house.
Tweenie-tastic thumbs up from me!!!
