Advantages: See where Elvis lived and lots of Elvis memorabilia
Disadvantages: souvenirs too expensive and food on site pricey too

WHERE IS IT: Graceland is on Elvis Presley Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee, USA We were staying in Gatlinburg which was about 7 hours drive from Memphis but I'm glad we made the effort to go to visit this famous home of Elvis. THE PACKAGE: This is the package we booked on the website: ? One night deluxe accommodations for two people at Elvis Presley?s Heartbreak Hotel with free continental breakfast ? Two reservations for the Graceland Platinum Tour, which includes an audio-guided tour of Graceland Mansion and grounds, and a self-guided tour of Elvis's two custom airplanes, Elvis's Automobile Museum, Private Presley and the Sincerely Elvis Museum. Elvis standing as a colossus

Advantages: Another towering Elvis performance
Disadvantages: None whatsoever

I'm sure you are all aware of the state of Elvis by the mid 1970s. The fried peanut butter sandwiches, on the spot purchases of Cadillacs and thousand dollar jewellery, not to mention Priscilla leaving him.....all well documented, and especially in that extremely readable book by his aides Red West and Dave Hebler (Elvis; What Happened?) His recording output had fallen away in both quality and quantity since the blockbuster 1969 release of From Elvis In Memphis, although he could still "pack em in" for the live shows. By now The King could not even be bothered to turn up for recording sessions. Two new albums were needed for 1976 though, so therefore it was decided that the studio should be put into Gracelands itself, a somewhat unusual arrangement to say the least. Even then Elvis didn't always show up on time for the cuts ...

Ultimate Elvis

Advantages: Pure Elvis (the first live global satellite broadcast in history !)
Disadvantages: None what so ever !

were just beginning, but none of that showed as Elvis sang one of the greatest live performances of his career. The concert was broadcast to over 30 countries and broke all viewing records in the far east and as far as australia. Unfortunatley, this was to be the last Elvis television special to be ever be broadcast as Elvis passed away only four years later on 16th August 1977. This concert was so different from his 1968 comeback special as the concert was pure music. Elvis didn't chat as he usually did, he concentated on entertaining the enormous viewing audience with his amazing voice(no pressure !!) He perfomed his classic songs with passion, the up tempo 'burning love' which focuses on the deeper side of love. This song was released in 1972 and was his biggest 70's hit in the US, 'suspicious minds', another love song about lack ...
