Advantages: An album for guitarists and music fans alike Disadvantages: Johnson is often overshadowed by more "popular" guitarists
...Eric Johnson is somewhat of an oddity. A great guitarist, a talented singer and, most importantly, a first-rate song-writer, he is often overlooked and overshadows by his peers. A self-confessed perfectionist, Johnson can spent months (sometimes even years) working on a project. His technically brilliance on guitar is equal (if not beyond) that of the likes of Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Yngwie Malmsteen; however, whilst these three made their career in the eighties for "shredding" (for anyone who doesn't know, "shredding" is a style of guitar playing where the basic aim is to play as many notes as quickly as possible), Johnson reserved his abilities and instead crafted songs that are both powerful and thought-provoking.
"Venus Isle" is Johnson's forth solo album and was released in 1996. I personally wouldn't class this solely...

Advantages: Great, Upbeat Music Disadvantages: Long Titles
...In Fall Out Boy's fourth CD, "FromUnder the Cork Tree", the titles of the songs are getting longer and longer. Such as "Our Lawyer Made Us Change The Name Of This Song So We Wouldn't Get Sued", "I've Got A Dark Alley And A Bad Idea That Says You Should Shut Your Mouth", "I Slept With Someone In Fall Out Boy And All I Got Was This Stupid Song Written About Me", and "Get Busy Living Or Get Busy Dying (Do Your Part To Save The Scene And Stop Going To Shows.)" It's made up for when you hear the music though. There isn't one song on this track that I do not like. Their first single, "Sugar, We're Going Down" is great, and the 2nd single, "Dance, Dance" is even better. Once you put in this CD and press play, you will not be disappointed, as the tracks move on, it only gets better. My favorite song would have to be "A Little Less Sixteen...

Advantages: Amazing pop punk, Highly Catchy, Great lyrics, Comical band Disadvantages: Some may be critical of this CDs high production values
...to have 5 good tracks, with a load of average ones. This is definitely not the case and in 'FromUnder The Cork Tree' the band have produced a truly fine album worthy of being in anyone's CD collection. Seriously, whatever type of music you're predominantly into - I swear that you will find enjoyment in this Fall Out Boy album, it really it a fine piece of work.
My favourites on this CD are probably 'Dance, Dance,' '7 Minutes In heaven,' 'Nobody Puts Baby In The Corner,' and the almighty 'Get Busy Living Or Get Busy Dying.' These are all great tracks and show off perfectly the fine skills that Fall Out Boy have to offer. There is never a dull moment on this album, but I just feel that these 4 tracks in particular really do convey the fun and enthusiasm that Fall Out Boy ooze seemingly with ease. The tracks have awesome vocals with great...
