The choirs on this CD include the Treorchy Male Choir, which sings the hymn from Finlandia, Unwraith Eto'n Nghymru Annwyl, and Lest we Forget. Next is the Canoldir Male Choir, who perform Shepherd, Shepherd, The Lord's Prayer and the Finnish Forest. The Morriston Orpheus Choir sing Cadwyn O Emyn-Donau Cymreig, a medley of Welsh hymn tunes, Joanna, Crugybar, Ebenezer. Then Cymru Fach, Dies Irae. The Pontarddulais Male Choir performs Bryn Myrddin and then Memory from Cats, followed by Diolch I'r Ior. The Dunvant Male Choir perform the Soldier's Chorus from Faust, The Lily of the Valley, the Bandits' Chorus from Ernani and Deus Salutis. ...This CD my favourite english tongue CD. Two thirds of the population of Wales be in this world in the valleys and coastal plain of the south, with a further noteworthy population concentration in the north east. The enduring areas in Mid Wales, the south west and west are predominantly rural and characterised by mountainous and precipitous topography. This CD encamps everything that is Welsh, national prides that is ours alone. While England has peter and jordan, Wales has our songs! I sing this CD with the family in our log house after the men return from the mines. The women cook over stove as men sing loud. Later my sisters sing with me before bed. This CD must be bought by any Welsh members! It more awesome than Boyzone or Take That as it has national heritage. though English capture of Wales took place under the 1284 Statute... Read review

.... The double album is testament to the Jekyll and Hyde nature of The Bad Seeds. Abattoir Blues is the more forceful of the two works, with Get Ready For Love leading straight in with a crescendo reminiscent of 80s highlight The Mercy Seat or the anarchic Baby I’m On Fire from his last, and commercially ignored album, Noctorama. The anthemic There she Goes has a chorus Franz Ferdinand would die for! Lyrically there is the lament of passing loves ones juxtapositioned with the praising of a God he is so aching to be closer to. Suitably he is backed admirably by The London Community Gospel Choir, always willing to add an angelic backdrop to the carnage. The Lyre Of Orpheus is more acoustic and minimal with many songs seemingly just Cave and song writing partner and gifted multi-instrumentalist Warren Ellis.
