Nothing reprents the sexy French house music style like David Guetta. Contrary to popular belief, house is not just a repition of random beats with the sole purpose of annoying elderly neighbours. There is actually quite a bit of technique used to produce house music and Guetta makes it look extremely effortless. The reasons for which he is so popular are shown in the this disk considered to be his masterpiece. The ever so present sexual connotation is his trademark. The pioneer of French house brought out the best of his abilities in F*** Me I\'m Famous.
David Guetta has new wave influences in all of his songs. There is a strong connection between his house and the 1980\'s pop chart hits. The influence of disco is also visible in most of his music. These are features are very characteristic as several house artists prefer the use of a heavier base beat to Guetta\'s gentler notes. A rythmitic introduction to songs is key! Guetta seems
to believe that the first notes set the stage for the rest of the song and therefore there must be a harmony between the lyric styles and the beat. The use of strings to produce ambience in melodies is also noted in several tunes. It is common for David Guetta to produce radio friendly songs rather the raw product competed by other DJ\'s. His songs are usually presented in their original mix to the media. Male vocals are predominent although not an absolute rule. The frist track in this sid has a very pleasant female voice and chorus which seems to be in complete harmony with the background beat.
Guetta seems to be embeded into popular french culture. His music has been included not only in French cinema, but also in a French bestseller called \"Paris 75016\". In this novel, Guetta\'s song \"The World is Mine\" is a the theme tune for the main character, an ubber rich 19 year old Parisien socialite who writes about the absurd and extravagant lifestyle she has. The song is compared to the character\'s inumerous cocaine intoxication sessions where she describes herself as \"invincible\" and as if the song were hers. David Guetta has also appeared in a L\'Oreal commercial which only confirms his status and advertisement potential. Most of his celebrity recognition has to do with his promotion of several of Paris\' most famous venues and work for public relation companies whilst producing record selling albums. His notorious nights at clubs Les Bains and Queen made his music even more acessible. He is a resident DJ in several VIP clubs in the world and is regularly seen globetrotting to promote his music.
The title of this album is very provocative. The origins of it may be traced to parties organized by Guetta himself in the party capital, Ibiza. It has been transferred in the form of T-shirts to youths worldwide and has a tremendous influence amongst its listeners. As the title claims, this type of cd would be most popular amongst the rich and famous. Although this is true, the album also appealed to a larger portion of society and even made its way into mainstream entertainment. The hit song \"The World is Mine\" was a top of chart dance tune in all of Europe. Most Precious Love is also a major hit that has been played repeatidly in radio stations for the past 4 years. It is also present in important music compilations for selective fashion events. At least 5 songs from this CD can be recognized in Paris Fashion Weeks' soundtrack list. The cover is also disco inspired. Guetta's iconic red track suit is very present in rock albums of an earlier period. There is speculation that Guetta may be inspired by rocker David Bowie.
If you are still wondering what makes this album better than other similar house music compilations, the answer is quite simple. David Guetta was able to transform the early 90\'s underground house music into this perfect mix of urban decadence and ultimate luxury, and all in the form song. His tracks ooze urban chic. Close your eyes while you listen to the \"World is Mine\" and you can probably imagine the Paris night lights flickering, you feeling powerful stampeding down Champs Elysees before entering into Queen and feel the city of lights at your feet. Guetta captures that which happens in every metropolis after the sun sets... the transformation from concrete streets into lively catwalks for the night people. The beat is so intense you can practically feel the loud speakers vibrating in the corner of nightclubs. It is as if your heart pulses with the music.
I strongly recommend house music, but be aware... it\'s highly addictive !
