The album entitled Full Moon includes the hit What About Us? And her forthcoming Full Moon, which is playing on my stereo right now!! On the album we see Brandy return with the same producers which produced her previous album, Rodney Jerkins et el. The album is fantastic and is a must for any Brandy fan, full of ballads and catchy typical Brandy dance tracks!!
FULL MOON (4:08)
I really like this song, the intro ... ...dramatic. The music is full of violins and harps.
“I am nothing without you baby
Nothing its driving me crazy
Nothing, no one, I’m so alone
Nothing without you baby”
IT’S NOT WORTH IT (4:23)
A special song on the album as it features ad libs from the one and only Michael Jackson! The track is a fast love song, with typical Rodney Jerkins beat and vocal arrangements. ... more
Wow, my first op for absolutely ages!! Now that my A/S exams are over I can come back to ciao and get back to reading and writing.
This op is about an album I brought very recently by a fantastic artist, Brandy. I was extra pleased when I purchased it as I used my £20 voucher, which I received from myvoice.com!!
For all of you who don’t know who Brandy is, you can find out by reading one of my ops, which contains all anyone would like to know about her!

On the album we see Brandy return with the same producers which produced her previous album, Rodney Jerkins et el. FULL MOON (4:08) I really like this song, the intro is a soft piano and the vocals and soft and smooth. When the intro finishes a soft beat enters. As soon as I heard this song I was singing it (and I didn’t even know the words!) It is very catchy and hopefully will be a hit. It is not a song which I would have though Brandy would have performed, but I have to say it is really good and it really suits her voice.
“I aint even gonna front I aint even gonna lie Since you walked up in the club Ive been giving you the eye”
I THOUGHT (4:29) A really up beat typical Brandy/Rodney Jerkins track. It’s good to see Brandy hasn’t changed her style totally! Although it is upbeat it is not a particularly fast, just totally different to the previous track. The way the lyrics are written and how the vocals are arranged are very clever.
“You claimed you loved me (no you didn’t) You said youd care for me (no you didn’t) Always respected you (yes I did) Called you my baby boo (yes I did)”
WHEN YOU TOUCH ME (5:43) This song really surprised me when I first heard it as it’s a slower song and it has such a high placing on the album, which has been usual on her previous two albums. Having said that doesn’t mean I don’t like it. The song really shows off Brandy’s vocals, which I think sometimes are overlooked. It is also a lot more mature than her previous songs (having said that her first album came out when she was 14, so I suppose she has matured a lot more since then!!)
“Really miss you baby And ways you touch me Can’t hardly wait Til you touch me”
LIKE THIS (4:32) Again this song is written by Rodney Jerkins and again I really like it!! It is another upbeat song and is the fastest so far. The chorus and tune are really catchy. It is again about touching, which I find rather strange why they placed two songs about touching next to one and other!?
“Please touch me baby (like this) Please hold me baby (like this) Please Love me like this I need you like this”
ALL IN ME (4:00) The song starts off with Brandy’s vocals distorted, then the chorus is sang in normal voice! The background music is very fast and beaty, although the vocals are sang slower, and adds a great effect. Again when you hear the song a few times it will stick in your head. Around two minuets into the song the mood changes the music speeds up and Brandy sings in an almost rap fashion. It is a really clever song.
“Let me be the reason you get through the day” Know that I’ll make everything OK Think of me baby and any way Ill be all you need”
APART (4:27) This is my favourite song from the album. It is a one off written by the same writer/producer from her first album. The song itself is very original and the first line from the chorus is sang like an old jazz singer, which shows off Brandy’s versatility. The track has a steady beat and lots of layered vocals. The chorus is extremely catchy and I can’t stop singing it!!
It is also a song I can relate to.
“I never do anything that pleases you” So maybe we are better off apart I don’t want to argue anymore So maybe we are better of apart”
CAN WE (4:43) Another song produced by Rodney Jerkins, and the vocals also feature Brandy’s younger brother Ray J, who has also had a successful singing career in the U.S. The repetition of the lyrics in the chorus makes the song very catchy and memorable. It is one of the strong tracks off of the album.
“Can we figure it out? Can we talk it out? Can we work it out? Can we make it true? Can we show it prove? Can we make it through?"
WHAT ABOUT US? (4:10) The first release from the album, written by Rodney Jerkins. Again an extremely catchy song with a fantastic beat and includes unusual sound FX. The song doesn’t really show Brandy’s vocals off, but the video shows her new image and style. However there are still “Brandyisms” included in the song!
“What about all of the Things that you say What about all of the Promises that you made What about all of the nights That you gave”
ANYBODY (4:55) Song starts off slow, and then a catchy guitar riff is entered. The vocals are distorted on the track, with the ad libs in normal Brandy voice! The chorus is again catchy and includes a lot of harmonies. The beat in the song subtlety increases and decreases as the song progresses. Brandy really shows off her low vocals in the song.
I don’t want anybody to know Didn’t we decide that We don’t want anybody to know What we do when we are alone We don’t want anybody to know”
NOTHING (4:38) A slow R’n’B ballad, where Brandy shows off her vocal range. As a single it would probably be successful as it is sweet and romantic. It is one of my favourite slow songs on the album as it is dramatic. The music is full of violins and harps.
“I am nothing without you baby Nothing its driving me crazy Nothing, no one, I’m so alone Nothing without you baby”
IT’S NOT WORTH IT (4:23) A special song on the album as it features ad libs from the one and only Michael Jackson! The track is a fast love song, with typical Rodney Jerkins beat and vocal arrangements. It starts off with a spoken intro which I cant make out! The track although being fast and beaty still contains a lot of detail. It includes harps, violins, and guitars.
“Don’t tell me you want out of this Don’t say it time for us to quit Don’t say goodbye, this cant be it Cause its not worth it”
HE IS (4:21) A slow romantic song with a steady beat and very smooth vocals. Again the song is very complex, with piano, strings and complex vocal arrangements. The song shows off Brandy’s vocal range once again and is a great romantic slow dance song!! The song finishes with a a capella of the chorus which is harmonised perfectly.
“Prince charming, my angel My king and my friend My lover, my one He is, he is”
COME A LITTLE CLOSER (4:32) Another R’n’B ballad, but not so dramatic as others on the album. It is what I call a “happy ballad” It is a fantastic track and really makes you feel good when you listen to it. It includes a steady beat and a sweet romantic chorus. Awwwww!! Defiantly the best ballad on the album.
“Come a little bit closer Let me hold you baby I will be good to you And we can try To forget tomorrow And make it last forever tonight”
LOVE WOULDN’T COUNT ME OUT (4:19) A song which starts off with a dramatic piano solo and with the dramatic strings, which also enter it, is evident it will be a dramatic ballad. Sung with immense feeling, another ballad which is so emotional. The track builds up as it finishes with a fantastic breakdown and vocals.
It used to be like that You couldn’t live without me But now you think your better without me So now its over I guess it wasn’t true When you said I love you Because love just wouldn’t count me out”
WOW (4:12) A slightly different track to finish the album. It starts with guitar and a catchy beat enters. The track is such an upflifting song and great to listen to when you going through a break up. Its about a man who replaces a man who wasn’t the one for you and he makes you feel…….wow!!
“That’s why I say WOW Never felt a love so good I look up and my world is brighter now Theres no more rainy clouds Since loves here”
(BONUS TRACK) ANOTHER DAY IN PARADISE (4:32) One of the tracks from the Urban Revival, which is the tribute to Phil Collins. When I first heard the track I loved it and still do now. It’s a great up beat, version of the track, which although is slightly different, doesn’t ruin the song. This song also features Ray J, Brandy’s brother. The video is also very clever and thought provoking.
“Oh think twice, cos its another day for you and me in paradise”
ALBUM BOOKLET The front cover was a shock to all Brandy’s fans……she lost her braids!!! It features a up close shot of Brandy’s face with a white background. The booklet itself is excellent; it features lyrics to all of the songs and many pictures.
Straight away from the songs on the album it shows Brandy’s maturity that has occurred since her last album. The album includes a lot more pop ballads, which show off Brandy’s vocals, which hasn’t been done before. Although her fans wont be disappointed with this album, it is defiantly Brandy all over again. It is clear that Brandy and Rodney Jerkins are a one in a million team as they gel and produce fantastic tracks.
I couldn’t believe how much I could relate to this album, I am amazed. I have never related to an album as much as this one.
Advantages: A good blend of upbeat pop and R&B Disadvantages: Lots of mushy love songs that all blend into one at the end
...this is worth a try. Full Moon is a good album, which starts of great then goes downhill. But, as you can see from my track outline below, it’s a good buy……
1. Intro
Just your average R+B album intro…just to get you in the mood for the rest of the album. It only lasts a minute but I always skip it to get onto the real stuff.
2. Full Moon. 4:08
The title definitely suits the track as its an enchanting song. You’ve probably heard the remix more ... ...it’s a shame that the remix isn’t on the album. the thing is with this song, there’s so many vocals all at once. It gives the listening area of your brain a work out! I could listen to this track over and over. ‘Full Moon’ and ‘what about us’ are the defining tracks of the album.
3. I thought 4:28
A really funky track. Defiantly another one of the best tracks on the album. (Told ya it started of great) Its really upbeat and makes you want to get ...

Advantages: This album is full of talented musicians and the absolutly brilliant Brandy Disadvantages: Some slow ballads
...• Rocka Intro: The introduction of Full moon starts off as a remix of the highly infectious What About, but different beats get added and it becomes much more sensual than before a real good opener witch makes the listener automatically sit up and listen
• Full Moon: is probably one of the coolest songs I have ever heard, it mixes experienced R and B vibes, with Brandy’s gravely and beautiful voice. The lyrics are about her meeting someone really ... ...probably the only song on Full Moon that I don’t like, Brandy excellent voice is still there, and its danceable but it just sounds, unoriginal and like every other song on the market at the moment. And Brandy is usually so fresh.
• All Of me: Is My favourite song on the album, it starts of very manic, with the main driving beat frantically spinning, and brandy singing her heart out, I also like the way that ‘You Can Think Of Me’ is repeated often, ...

Advantages: RnB, Soul, Dance, Chill out, Upbeat tracks, great tracks, great lyrics Disadvantages: None
In my opinion, 'Full Moon' is Brandy's best album to date.. I recall listening to this album a great deal in my university days after a friend of mine made me a copy:) to add to my RnB collection. 'Full Moon' is Brandy's third album released in 2002 and it was definitely a cut above the previous couple albums. Although 'Full Moon' was the main single off this album and was the main hit off it, most of the tracks on the album were hits to me and any ... ...album were the slow tracks mainly and Brandy's smooth (almost slightly husky) voice and vocal ability which are showcased really well on this album. The best tracks on the album in my opinion are: 'Full Moon' which is a combination of slow RnB with an slightly upbeat rythm and soundtrack that made it very popular. 'What about Us' was also one of the more popular tracks on this album. It is one of the more upbeat tunes with good lyrics, an upbeat ...

Advantages: catchy r&b Disadvantages: too many ballads?
...the best tracks are:
Full Moon - dancey, catchy and happy. She released this one as a single so most people should at least have a vague recollection of it.
"I Thought" is equally as catchy. It's one of those songs that just gets inside your head and won't leave for days. Considering how bitter the lyrics are, it's surprisingly upbeat!
"All In Me" - it sounds a bit garage, as if the Artful Dodger had something to do with it! I don't think they ... ...We?" sounds quite retro. It has a really good beat to it and the music is really cool.
"What About Us?" - i think i've said enough about this track already. Just fantastic. The best piece of r&b at the time it was out, as far as I'm concerned.
"Anybody" - think this is my favourite that wasn't released as a single. The singing style and the hook are really cool and make you just want to sing along. Well, I always do anyway.
"Another Day In Paradise" ...

Advantages: BRANDY!!!!!!!! is that enough? Disadvantages: Hardly anything
This is the latest offering from the sexy, talented and all round nice garl Brandy. Aphrodisiac, is her 4th album, and defiantly her most grown up, and accomplished one at that. I am very impressed with the quality of this album, and it even tops off FullMoon working on all the faults of that one.
1. An enjoyable opening to a great album. It?s fairly middle of the range, it?s defiantly R and B, but not as experimental as it could have been. Cool, sassy but just not up there with the best of Brandy
2. Aphrodisiac: Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, This is a smooth, upbeat tune with catchy lyrics and a sexy backing tune. Brandy?s husky voice works beautifully with everything about this song. It all blends in together. Everything just fits, this is the only song ever I can?t stop singing. Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha to. This is her new single. Out in the shops ...
Advantages: Sensual, Thoughtful, Substantial, Stunning Disadvantages: Not Quite As Good As Aphrodisiac
scream 'with you is where I'd rather be, but we're stuck were we are, so hard, so far?this long distance is killing me'. It is the most soulful of any of the songs - with a lovely orchestral accompaniment and some truly moving moments; it's an out and out ballad but in the best sense of the word. It instantly captures the listener's attention with its simple piano and orchestral backing which allows Brandy's stunning voice to truly shine. It is really quite charming and stands out from the rest as a straight, but engrossing piece of balladry - and shows an amazing mix of light and shade. I have heard it performed as acapella and it is equally beautiful, it contains a ghostly, saddening quality that is really interesting. 9/10
Camouflage: This is the track which most resembles Brandy's FullMoon album; it is up-beat, fun and inspirational ...

, not on the small screen, but the big screen, she starred at Kayla in “I still know what you did last summer” which was a massive box office hit. She also starred alongside Diana Ross in “Double Platinum” a heart-warming drama, where she performs songs from her album “Never Say Never”
In 2002 she returned a married woman, and just recently reviled she is having her first child. Her image has changed the braids that we all love are now gone!!
What about us? Produced by Rodney Jerkins is a great song that suits Brandy to a T! Her album “FullMoon” shows Brandy as a new more mature artist. But still she doesn’t loose her modesty!
Brandy although is a big star still gets very star struck; she doesn’t realised the success she is. I’m sure Brandy will be around ...
Personnel includes: Brandy, Michael Jackson, LaShawn "Big Shiz" Daniels, Ray J (vocals); Isaac Phillips, Aaron Fishbeind, Blake English (guitar); Kimbo (violin); Larry Gold (cello); Stuart Brawley, Jason Derlatka (piano); Rodney Jerkins (Wurlitzer piano); Gerald Hayward (drums); Teddy Riley (talkbox). Producers include: Rodney Jerkins, Keith Crouch, Kamillion, Brandy, LaShawn "Big Shiz" Daniels. Engineers include: Paul Foley, Fabian Marascuillo, Jim Bottari. FULL MOON was nominated for the 2003 Grammy Awards for Best Contemporary R&B Album. The first couple of years of the 21st century proved to be a crowded field for photogenic young R&B-pop divas (Britney, Christina, Mya, the list goes on...). Many of these occupy a file in some folks' minds that's labeled "one-shot." FULL MOON serves to disprove such notions in the case of the in-it-for-the-long-haul siren Brandy. The album kicks off with a whisper, as the young songstress lets her voice gently caress the lush, balladic tones of the title track. Things kick into gear in short order though (on the very next tune, in fact) with "I Thought," where our girl lets her feelings of romantic disappointment out over a firm, funky backdrop full of heavy bass. By the time we reach the undulating "Can We," street-smart hip-hop influences have crept into the production aesthetic by way of squiggling synths and forceful beats. Throughout FULL MOON, whether she's belting it out or sneaking in the back door, Brandy lets her listeners know she's more than just a flash in the pan.
