Advantages: Some big tunes Disadvantages: Slower tracks are generally weaker
they get into this one and you see that here they were attempting to squeeze as much as they could from the Disco phase to come out with a tune that uses the essential elements to the bestFunk tracks and waters it down to the perfect place to bring out the most of its potential. It hits hard here and stands as one of the freakiest dance cuts from them on this album.

7. ?By Your Side?
Year: 1980
Album: ?Spirit Of Love?
They are seen to change the pace as they move on into this one and go from the hyped material, down into something much more manageable here as you get them doing one of the more soothing sides of their R&B tunes here. I felt that it was a pretty effective one for coming out with the kind of results that are bound to take you in through the emotiveness of the song and the effect it can have upon ...
Essential Afroboeat is essential if you are in any way interested in Afrobeat music. The CD sleeve notes bake a somewhat bold claim. "This is Afrobeat: The past, the present and the future. Contributions to this compilation come from all the corners of the Earth, with influences from every culture of the world. Fela said that Africa was "The centre of the world." This compilation has proved him right: Afrobeat is afrian and Africa is at the centre. The contribution of each artist to this compilation is testimony to the fact that Afrobeat is universal."
But are these sleeve notes right? Yeah. I guess they are, pretty much. There's a glittering array of some of the best of the most talented musicians from Africa. There's Fela Kuti himself, with his super-eclectic style, which combines elements of R&B, Reggae, Ska and some hard pushing ...
Advantages: Consistent quality Disadvantages: Little variation
the rough and rugged stuff in the record. However I find this to be a strength to the track as it makes it stand out and makes you take a lot more notice of what they do with it.

10. ?Frustrated?
Starting things up with a little brass wind, this one has them a track where they really carry through the emotions of the tune to the listener as with the rhymes they explain exactly why they are in this state of frustration to the degree where all can relate to what is done on it. It takes a lot out of you, and at times they offer ways out of it.

11. ?Yes Y?all?
The beats in this one are as funky as what we started the album with, and so it appears to give the album some sort of cyclical roundness to it, and with beats from the legendary Marley marl, you have them forcing you to bounce to the dunking flow ...
