Album Notes: Less Than Jake follow up 2006's 'In With The Out Crowd' with their ninth studio album 'GNV FLA'. For this record the band have gone back to their roots, naming the album after their hometown Gainesville, Florida and producing a sound that is a throwback to their mid-1990s style. Frantic punk guitar chords and riffs are backed by a trademark feelgood horn section and lyrics tackling modern day issues from a positive and defiant perspective. Singles include 'Does The Lion Still Roar'.
Advantages: A couple of tracks are quite enjoyable. Disadvantages: The album on the whole is really rather disappointing.
...'In With The Out Crowd' is the most recently released album from LessThanJake. At two years old it isn't exactly 'brand new' any more, but the newest nonetheless and will remain so until they release their eighth studio album later this year. It is my least favourite of all of the albums from the Floridian Ska Punk band LessThanJake and in truth is not one that I hold in particularly high regard at all. That said, it is by no means a bad album, it's just not a great one.
The album is really rather lacklustre and none of the tracks present are particularly exciting at all. The first single lifted from this album was 'Everything Is Overrated' for example which in itself is a really average track. The sad thing is that it is probably one of the highlights from the album and nothing really shines through too much. All twelve tracks...

...I own every LessThanJake album released and for me, this is my faveourite one!! This cd is everything you could want and more from LessThanJake. There isn't a track I would skip on this album, which we can all agree is rare to find an album where we like every song! People just see LessThanJake as any other American punk band, but if you sit back and listen to the lyrics they really are genius, and are very true! LessThanJake create ballads in their own punk way, Ghosts of me and you, Look what happened and brightest bulb has burned out are all ballad type songs, but add a few trumpets and 4 American punk gods and you have yourself some very successful music! LessThanJake are very talented and I don't think they quite get the credit they deserve! This album is incredible!...

Advantages: Lots of great songs, good video on it Disadvantages: Some songs are quite short
...the only reason that i bought this cd is because i was bored of all my cds, and needed a new one (also it was in a sale), and i am so glad that i bought it, cos now i love lessthanjake and they are one of my favourite bands, and i have all of their albums.
if you dont know who lessthanjake are, they are a ska/punk rock band from USA, that have been around for a little while now and they rock!
I have to say that this is one of the best lessthanjake albums, and ive got all of them. it is all that you would expect from lessthanjake; great ska/punk rock tracks, with the classic ska guitars, horns, and normal guitars.
the songs are listed below with my personal rating next to them:
1. Last One Out Of Liberty City - 7/10
2. Help Save The Youth Of America From Exploding - 8/10
3. All My Best Friends Are Metalheads...
