...In a promotion aimed to make Opera more understandable and accessible, Naxos have produced a series of CDs entitle “Opera explained”. The ninth in the series released on 22nd October 2002, is The Magic Flute composed by Amadeus Wolfgang Mozart. All the CDs in the series roughly follow the same format. The first section of the CD, lasting for approximately quarter of an hour, provides a brief and basic biography Of Mozart and illustrated by excerpts from a variety of his works. The recording continues with musical highlights from the Comic Opera interspersed with explanations of the plot and music. Advantages: Fun, dancey, great disco
Disadvantages: Lyrically not great, might not be everyone's cup of tea

...Chic - the most well known disco act of all time. Some people probably think 'Dance, Dance, Dance', 'Good Times' and 'Le Freak' were all they had. Even I thought that. Wrong. This 11 track compilation from the first part of their career has some of their strongest songs on it. The tracklisting is as follows: 1. Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah) 2. Everybody Dance (12" mix) 3. Strike Up the Band 4. Chic Cheer 5. Le Freak 6. I Want Your Love 7. Good Times 8. My Feet Keep Dancing 9. My Forbidden Lover 10. Soup for One 11. Savoir Faire If you are interested in disco, but don't want to invest in just compilations, this is a good start. Where to begin describing this?
