...Anyone who has read any of my reviews in the past will notice a clear personality defect emerging. I like the high life of top notch restaurants, but crave the security that being in charge of my financial destiny brings. Like the white stripes once wrote 'the two sides of my brain need to have a meeting'. And so it was Head 2 that I was wearing the day I picked up 'How to retire 10 years early'. I have to fly a fair bit for my job, not for much longer though, my pregnant stomach is becoming more and more noticeable and then my evil boss will no longer be able to send me away?ha-ha!!! Anyway I was at City airport in London, home of the apprentice reject, the blackberry addict and the if I talk loudly enough into my blue tooth someone will surely realise my importance deluded fools. Advantages: First time on cd for many tracks
Disadvantages: pastiche agenda limits wider appeal

...on c.d for many of these tracks quite surprising in these days of re-issue,re package and revision,its taken nearly 25 years for this colection of songs to make their way back into commercial availability,an absolute god send for serious collectors with the early singles "Beat The Beat and "Dancecard "making their debut on compact disc and a definite event for casual buyers of a certain age who had nearly forgotten Miss Wilsons contribution to quality 80,s pop. Longevity alluded Mari Wilson in her initial role as pop singer but she managed to forge a credible career in film and television recording the themes for BBc,s "Coupling" (Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps)and "Would you Dance With a Stranger"from the Ruth Ellis bio pic in 1991,both of these track are included here ,the sleeve notes are a little scant but with such a high standard of music... ...=The Act= Kool & The Gang a New Jersey-based Funk and Disco band, who often went into Soul and Jazz at times. The band found fame from the point when they dropped their debut in 1970, but it wasn?t really until later (by about their sixth album in 1973) when they really made an impact as the Funk sound had really formed itself and they were able to come up with material to act as anthems of the time. The height of success for them was in fact once they had watered-down the Funk later on as Kool led the band to more Disco-sounding by the eighties. Their last album came as recently as 2007. =The Album= This is a 1993 compilation release for Kool & The Gang.
