Advantages: Its Ray Charles Disadvantages: Its not the real Ray Charles
...RayCharles, the man was a musical Genius of this there is no doubt at all. Genuis is a far too frequently used word these days with very few deserving of the accolade.
So Genius loves company, how does it measure up? Its a nice album of duets featuring the great man and some of todays other musicians.
It is a nice album with some very nice tracks but it doesn't give a good representation of Ray at his finest.
The best three tracks for my money were:
Here we go again - Featuring Norah Jones
It was a very good year - Featuring Willie Nelson
You don't know me - Featuring Diana Krall
Genius Love Company is definately worth owning if just for these three tracks.
If you would like to experience RayCharles i would recommend that you purchase The Definitive RayCharles double CD a much more complete picture of the man....

...After his unexpected death, Raycharles left 60 years of his time on his record label, making timeless music, with mixture of jazz, blues, gospel, country, soul, and rock ’n‘ roll.
There was something very memorable about his unforgettable performances, he truely inspired alot of modern artists with his music.
This new released album is duet album...every song is a duet with the worlds hottest soul/jazz singers: Nelson, Norah Jones, Natalie Cole, Bonnie Raitt and many more.
it has to be said that he does shine the most with his duets, for example of a very heart moving duet is "Here We Go Again" feat the new shining talent Nora Jones, a soul beat ballad, a beautifull romantic recreation.
The duet with James Taylor "Sweet Potato" which shifts into neo-soul sounds, with gitar riffs and the very unmissable saxaphone.
"You dont know...

Advantages: the master on it's best Disadvantages: to be the rael best of Ray Charles
...I am aware of some of RayCharles work but this one was the one I acquire as being the "father of soul music”. Maybe impressed that "Genius loves company" was the last album that he recorded, his music seems evolved in a "blues-esco" spirit full of nostalgic.
Composed with twelve duets, the album represents thirteen songs that with out a thought sparkles RayCharlesgenius and the magic of is guests. Ray’s voice it's in a terrific shape even with is age and his long disease, lets say that it is not as strong as it used to be but that way to put emotion and sentiment into his music is still there.
The songs are great...actually they are real classics...I remember to ear his voice for the first time in "You don't know" on his original track and I really loved it, a and it is today one of my favourites. With this album I had...
