There was something very memorable about his unforgettable performances, he truely inspired alot of modern artists with his music. This new released album is duet album...every song is a duet with the worlds hottest soul/jazz singers: Nelson, Norah Jones, Natalie Cole, Bonnie Raitt and many more. it has to be said that he does shine the most with his duets, for example of a very heart moving duet is "Here We Go Again" feat the new shining talent Nora Jones, a soul beat ballad, a beautifull romantic recreation. Genius sorely missed

Advantages: Its Ray Charles
Disadvantages: Its not the real Ray Charles

Ray Charles, the man was a musical Genius of this there is no doubt at all. Genuis is a far too frequently used word these days with very few deserving of the accolade. So Genius loves company, how does it measure up? Its a nice album of duets featuring the great man and some of todays other musicians. It is a nice album with some very nice tracks but it doesn't give a good representation of Ray at his finest. The best three tracks for my money were: Here we go again - Featuring Norah Jones It was a very good year - Featuring Willie Nelson You don't know me - Featuring Diana Krall Genius Love Company is definately worth owning if just for these three tracks. If you would like to experience Ray Charles i would recommend that you purchase The Definitive Ray Charles double CD a much more complete picture of the man. ...

Ray Charles on my mind

Advantages: Superb performance by Jamie Foxx
Disadvantages: Long and dull at times

version is basically the theatrical version with extended scenes clumsily inserted into it at approximately the right moment. This makes watching extremely disjointed and is very annoying. I would much rather that the extended scenes had been collected together so that viewers could watch them separately if they so wish. Then there is a feature commentary by director Taylor Hackford that accompanies the theatrical version of the film - this needs to be switched on through the special features section. Finally, there is a descriptive audio feature for the visually impaired. I was quite disappointed - I would have liked a behind the scenes documentary or a documentary about Ray's life, but that wasn't to be. There are definitely a lot of positives to this film. I loved Jamie Foxx's performance, and I certainly learned a lot about Ray Charles ...
