OK, not so much with Dinner with Gershwin perhaps ? more like Challenge with MattC! HOW MANY CD'S DO YOU OWN? About 50 or so CD'S IN YOUR COLLECTION: MOST EMBARRASSING- I have a CD single of Barbie Girl by Aqua. This doesn?t embarrass me as it reminds of when my son was younger and we went roller skating on Sundays because the rink played it a lot. It does however embarrass my son as he was the one who bought it! He played it so much that the starling outside his window learned the opening bars. Talking of embarrassing music taste my son is adamant that I must not admit in public that I quite like Busted as this would prove I am uncool. Ha ? I shall now enjoy publicly declaring that I do actually quite like one or two of their songs!! MOST RECENT- Now that?s what I call Christmas Music! I love all the Christmas songs ...

Pepper Salad dressed with a Sweet Ginger Mustard and Mint dressing *** Spicy Sweet Potato, Fennel, Tomato and Plantain Ragout served with Soft Mascarpone Polenta This is a typical lunchtime menu at Gershwins in Dean Street in Newcastle. It also includes a large glass of excellent wine (and I do mean a LARGE glass). My original title for this opinion was going to be “The Place is a Joke” but often titles like that can backfire. Without a doubt, this place is the best restaurant in Newcastle. It’s situated downstairs in a very relaxed cellar type setting ,. The dynamic and contrast of the instruments in this first section provide a gratifying but not fully satisfying level of excitement by almost start stopping all the way through. It is like they are following a bus route; fast slow fast slow all the way through. This continues until we reach the variation section when the piano becomes very strong and almost encourages the other instruments to get their act together and create some energy. This links through to the end of the second section when we get what is almost like a mini finale before it descends into the piano Rag Time section.
