Advantages: Fun, good voice, good variety
Disadvantages: Some of the slow songs are a bit dull

What do you think of when you think of Lady Gaga? For me it's a mixture of flirtation and an inability to wear clothes - and, oddly, this attitude is definitley something that comes across in the album! That might be a strange way to start off a review, but Lady Gaga has built up her fame and recognition almost entirely around her image and her antics. And, quite simply, if she is someone that you want to hit everytime you see her or hear her talk, this is an album that you will absolutely hate. If you enjoy her quirky, in your face behaviour - then give this one a listen. I first got hooked on Gaga after hearing Just Dance, the disco track that just wouldn't go away. Review of The Fame - Lady Gaga

NOT WORTHY OF "FAME" . . .

Advantages: i liked the original, the trailer makes it look good
Disadvantages: trailers always do...

Now, I have always been a sucker for the whole dance movie genre. "Girls Just Want To Have Fun", the "Step Up" movies, "Save the Last Dance" . . . loved them all. I guess I thought "Fame" was going to be a slightly more well-rounded (ie embracing arts OTHER than dance) version of one of those. Boy, was I wrong. I can't remember the original "Fame" all that well from my childhood, althought I do know I was a big fan of it at the time. And perhaps WERE I a tween again, I may have felt similarly. But I just couldn't. Perhaps I am just getting too old to appreciate it, but I came out of the cinema at the end of it feeling a distinct sense of "Was that it???" Review of Fame (DVD)

Best of Blue

Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Too ealry for a "Best Of" collection, doesn't seem to be on tape

. Fly By II This is quite a boring track, which sounds very similar to "All Rise". 5. One Love Another boring track, with ludicrous mentions of "hip hop beats". Again, it sounds like "All Rise". 6. Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word (Radio Edit) A good cover version of the Elton John song, featuring Elton himself. The harmonica in the middle sounds like "All Rise" (yet again!) but it's really good. Duncan sounds brilliant. 7. U Make Me Wanna (Radio Edit) This is a mid-tempo love song and while all 4 Blue boys sound good, the material is bland. 8. Guilty Co-written by Gary Barlow, this track reminds me of Take That at their best. It's a ballad about how hurtful it is if you genuinely love someone who already has a partner.
