An excellent choice of CD for parents with young children. We do a lot of driving with the children in the back and although the album is geared for them, as a parent, it's not a bad one to sing along to.
We found other children's albums comprising of all the favourite nursery rhymes which after an hour or three in the car you want to throw it out of the window. Not so with this one. There are no annoying off key children singing in it which is a big plus as a parent. The quality of singing, harmonies, lyrics and instrumental parts are all extremely good. The songs all deliver a positive message and frequently promotes healthy living and eating!
The album starts with the upbeat 'Get Ready to Wiggle' followed by a good 'action' song 'Hot Potato' (so long as you are not the one driving!). 'Rock a Bye Your Bear' slows things down a bit and has a nice calming effect on your little one. Our favourites would have to be 'Henry the Octopus' and 'Monkey Dance'.
The overall quality of this album is exceptional. If you don't know anything about The Wiggles, they are a group of four men from Australia who write and produce most if not all of their own music. As a group they seem to have an exceptional gift for being able to tap into what works with young children. Thier uniqueness lies in their ability to drag children's entertainment into today's century and this is reflected in their music.
My boys love this album and enjoy singing along to all the songs. If you want something a bit more grown up but for the children this would have to be the album for you.
