the title of his latest album Get Rich or Die Trying. The New York native comes from the same school as B.I.G, Shine and Mobb Deep--a raw street rhymer who mixes the thug and poet in one perplexing package. 50 cent earned extra cred by coming up through mix-tape popularity after his first album was dropped when the ex-boxer was shot on the eve of its release. Guns, threats, drug deals and misogyny populate 50 Cent's outlaw world, but it's a popular mix--hence his recently sealed link with Eminem's record company. The excellent "Wanksta" was pulled onto the 8 Mile soundtrack and Dr Dre produced the crunching first single, "In Da Club". Jamaican Sean Paul puts his now familiar patter on the hypnotic "Dem Not Ready". "If You Want It" is a ridiculously rude party joint, while "Cocaine Dreams" takes a pop at Ja Rule. "Got the Hood on Smash" is, undoubtedly, damn funky. Sadly his first single "How to Rob an Industry N***A" (reminiscent of B.I.G's equally scabrous "Dreams") doesn't appear. Even the most hardcore have to tone it down sometimes. --Jake Barnes

Advantages: Very good value for money- 19 tracks! Disadvantages: Some songs are quite same-y
...four albums, two of which- Get Rich Or Die Tryin' and The Massacre- which have both reached multi-platinum status. He is under Interscope Records and manages his own label- G-Unit Records. This is 50 Cent's first album and those who are fans will probably enjoy this album. If you are not a big fan you may find some of the tracks quite similar, although it is stil good value for money and can be purchased for under £5! And after all, its multi-platinum! ... ...are not quite as clean there is a lot of blanking out, so you may want to consider buying the dirty version. This is definately not as good as his new album, and if you prefer the songs of his which feature singing in them then i would reccomend u don't purchase this album. The lyrics put across pretty much the same message in most of the songs so this isn't the type of album you can listen to over and over without getting tired of it. However, it ...

I feel that 50 Cents Get Rich Or Die Trying is a very good album because other than great lyrics the songs also have a good beat. I personally find this album to be quite addicting and would definitely reccomend it to al those rap lovers out there. Advantages: some good songs on the album Disadvantages: 50 cent isn't the greatest rapper around
I must admit that I'm not a great fan of 50 cent but I really like this album. With Eminem and Dre on production, this album has some really good beats. With 19 tracks on the album, it's good value for money although in my opinion there are a couple of weak tracks including 21 questions and P.I.M.P.
The best tracks on the album are: 1) Patiently waiting with Eminem, 2) What up gangster, 3) Many Men has a very good beat, 4) Blood hound with Young ...

Album Notes
Personnel includes: 50 Cent, Eminem, Young Buck, Tony Yayo, Nate Dogg, Lloyd Banks. Producers include: Dr. Dre, Eminem, John Freeman, Red Spyda, Terence Dudley. With its inclusion on the mega-successful 8 MILE soundtrack, 50 Cent's "Wanksta" blew up in late 2002, calling out the hypocrisies of wannabe gangstas who boast of criminal exploits that exist only in their imaginations. If anyone has the right to speak it's 50 Cent; he made his mark in the streets (not to mention newspapers) long before Eminem inked the Queens rapper to his Shady Records. In between the occasional single and album, 50 Cent has been involved in many notorious hip-hop confrontations. The too-aptly titled GET RICH OR DIE TRYIN' (which includes "Wanksta") introduces his brash, talk-it-like-he-walks-it rap style to the world at large. 50 Cent blithely cites the Bible in "Many Men (Wish Death)" while crowing about the rival who famously shot him in 2000 only to be shot himself ("cuz he got hit like I got hit and he ain't...breathin'"). From that slice of ultra-reality, he shifts to the dance-pop anthem "In Da Club." Throughout GET RICH OR DIE TRYIN', 50 Cent presents a strikingly original, raw worldview, even by the well-traveled genre's bleak and violent standards.
