infected. Now my first thoughts were what is swine flu, i like to think of myself as somewhat intelligent, but even i didn't no what this flu was all about. A quick look on google quickly educated me and i finally got the background information on it. Days and weeks passed and the news was just constantly thumped on the whole swine flu hysteria, people were now dying, and recorded cases were now spreading to the US, and even the U.K, i remember hearing the stories about the UK couple who contracted the virus whilst on holiday, and i was thinking how unlucky for them.
So anyway weeks pass, and its said people are actually dieing from this illness, mainly people with other health issues, but a death is still a death, i remember thinking to myself boy am i glad not to be a swine flu carrier, boy was i about to get a big wake up call. In total ...
Advantages: relief from symptoms Disadvantages: taste a bit powdery
I have had a rotten cold since last tuesday, i must admit i never seem to escape a winter without a few colds but this one has been bad, if it wasnt that i had so much to get done ready for my daughters birthday party next week end i would possibly have curled up in bed and stayed there.
Wholst in poundland getting the balloons and banners ready for the party i spotted a packet of beechams cold and flu hot blackcurrants and thought yes please i realy need them.
Bechams cold and flu hot blackcurrant came in a cardboard box containing five sachets of powder to make the drinks.
They are designed to be non drowsey but i dont realy know as they are as i have felt that washed out anyway due to this cold i couldnt realy tell.
There are full instructions on the box, they are suitable for people over the age of 12 years and can be ...
Advantages: Relief from cold and flu symptoms Disadvantages: None.
That's it, I have finally succumbed and bought some Beechams Flu Plus Caplets upon the recommendation of a friend.
The sneezing started 3 days ago and the combination of a runny and blocked nose a day later but when the thumping headache started yesterday I gave in and what a relief these tablets have been. I haven't got a sore throat although my glands are up but the tight knot in my chest and the occasional 'flemmy' cough are very much apparant..........what an attractive picture of myself I am painting!
I have been taking these for almost 48 hours and they do help to relieve the headache and the blocked nose. These really are a must for anyone with cold or flu like symptoms I just wish that they would get rid of the very attractive red bits from under my nose acquired from blowing it so much!! I can tell when I'm due another ...

Personnel: Karen Mantler (vocals, harmonica, organ); Eric Mingus (vocals); Pablo Calogero (baritone saxophone, flute); Carla Bley (C-melody saxophone); Michael Mantler, Steven Bernstein (trumpet); Steve Swallow (flugelhorn); Steve Weisberg (keyboards); Marc Muller (guitar); Jonathan Sanborn (bass); Ethan Winogrand (drums). Recorded at Grog Kill Studio, Willow, New York in 1990. With GET THE FLU Karen Mantler focuses her attention even more than on previous releases on her cat Arnold. As with its predecessor, this set of 10 songs has jazz elements, but equally embraces Tin Pan Alley, assorted strains of pop music, and cabaret. Mantler again has a solid band, including the son of jazz bassist Charles Mingus, vocalist Eric Mingus, who adds contrast and theatrical interplay to the character driven songs. Mantler even creates a melancholy Christmas song, less about the holiday itself than its effect on her. The singer's ability to examine her own life, including relationship issues and her bond with her pet, strike a universal chord.
