Advantages: Groundbreaking Rock and Roll Disadvantages: Possible Tinnitus
....
This album that was origonally put out in 1973 was mixed by David Bowie is a different beast to this remastered version. Where David's mixing was slated (sometimes unfairly) as being rather weedy this version mixed by Iggy himself is dirty, nasty and violent as it should be. The rythmn sections work is more prominent and there is a beautiful violent energy penetrating the sound, this is the sound of a band playing like they had nothing less to loose.
On top of the fanstastic music you also get a booklet with an interview with Iggy where he discusses the events that let up to the recording of this album, the recording of the album, and bring things up to date with the remastering process. These are full of anecdotes and insights into the procedings. There are also a few extra photos splattered arround which show just how dam good the band looked...

Advantages: It's Abba! Some great tracks & no bad ones, bonus tracks on this version. Disadvantages: Not their best, probably not for the casual fan.
...and even those critics who feel Abba are a weak throwaway group might appreciate this more sombre side of their repertoire.
As for me, I loved the album from the first time I heard it, although - like most things - it isn't faultless. It contains catchy tunes that you find yourself singing along to and humming later. One Of Us is the stand-out track for me, but there are many highlights.
The advantage of buying the remastered version - besides the obvious one! - is that you get thirteen tracks. As well as the nine that were on the original album, you also get Should I Laugh Or Cry (the B-side to One Of Us), The Day Before You Came (released as a single), Under Attack (another single) and You Owe Me One (the B-side to Under Attack).
The album begins with the title track, which sounds rather dark and moody at the start - almost sinister...

rastaman review Review ofRastaman Vibration [Remastered] - Bob Marley & The Wailersby
deriisaac
Advantages: not a single bad track Disadvantages: only 11 tracks
...with only 11 tracks on this album you may be thinking is it really worth it? my answer, yes yes yes! for one thing the album is called rastaman vibration and if you havent herd that track then you need this album as it is such a tune. basically all the tracks on this album are brilliantthere are only 2 tracks less than 3 minutes therefor the album lasts longer than you would expect. i download many albums but with bob marley i like physically owning his albums as the cases and booklets are always beautifully presented. the album contains a 6 page booklet with very nice pictures and one illustration. i added this to my collection very late on for a reason unknown to me as i should have bought it earlier beacuse it is so enjoyable. i would deffinetely get this as it has some amazing tracks that have been produced with a lot of care...
