"Ghetto Love" came out in 2001, and introduced the world to Jaheim as it came as the soulful R&B superstar's debut album, and came with a host of big singles including "Could It Be", "Looking For Love" and "Just In Case", which made his career possible. The artist made it big at a time when R&B was re-vamped with many new faces on the scene, all taking the genre in a new direction. His way was by concentrating his attention around the Soul-based tracks.

1. "Intro"

2. "Du & Jah" (Lude)

3. "Looking For Love"

This is one of the most memorable songs from the album, and has Jaheim kicking it into a high gear from the start as he comes out with a bangign slow jam to give a clear indication of what is material is about. The arrangement of this song is bound to excite you and surprise you at ever turn as he sings how he can never find love when he actively looks in the typical places.

**Five Stars**

4. "Answering Machine" (Lude)

5. "Let It Go"

This one is backed by some funky horns, and it really works for him as it gives him a chance to really have fun and explore all the areas of music that have shaped him as an artist. This is all quality stuff, and the energy is high, so you are unale to complain about it in this respect. It is a banger whihc sticks right out within the release.

**Five Stars**

6. "Could It Be"

On this one, Jaheim completely takes control as he sings in his well-known soulful way as he takks about all the possible reasons why he is loved by his girls, all of them are completely disconnected from the fact that it could genuinely me a mutual love which is felt between the pair. It is powerful piece which has to be seen as some of the best on the record.

**Five Stars**

7. "Ghetto Love"

This is the title track to the album, and I must say that it was a bit of a disappointment for me as it was pretty average in comparison to how the rest of the record went. The theme and subject to it could be predicted, but I have to say that it worked for the thing as you get him explaining what he is about, and how he wishes to share the "Ghetto Love" with those around him.

**Three Stars**

8. "Happiness"

This up-tempo song is a real up-lifter that builds up your mood as he singing response to how his new-found love is making him feel. This song forces indentical feelings upon yourself, and this can only be a positive for it. The funky backing which supports it is just the type of thing to get you in this particular mood.

**Five Stars**

9. "Jah's Seed" (Lude)

10. "Lil' N***a Ain't Mine"

This is a fun little song which has him sing with a specific theme as he distances himslef from a girl after eing accused of being the baby's father, and obviously being taken for a ride as a result of this. he explores his Hip Hop side in this one, and it really suits him well and adds to the variety of the piece.

**Four Stars**

11. "Finders Keepers"

This one has a funky backdrop to it, and it seems to motivate the artist, and give him what is required to get out all his high-quality vocals, and come out with some of the best R&B for the start of the new millenium. You have him singing in quite a mellowed way, which fitted right in with the R&B of the time, and still sits well with what is expected now.

**Four Stars**

12. "Just In Case"

it really doesn't matter how many times you listen to this one, you will never get bored of it, and you never be able to find a fault within it. it is a gem, and has him do a very emotive one where he sings about how he has to display his love for his girl before he parts with her, no matter how little time they may spend apart from one another. This single is probably his best work to date.

**Five Stars**

13. "Heaven In My Eyes"

I got taken right back whe I heard this one as I haven't heard it since my dad bumped it in his car upon the release, and it is amongst the best you find hear as he sings directly towards the girls whislt retaining some appeal for the male fans who are out there too by implementing a heavy bassline into it.

**Five Stars**

14. "Anything"

The singer does one about how submissive he has become now that he has found true love, and as a result he is willling to do absolutely anything for his girl, no matter what it is. It is a slow one which gets him working alongside a winding sythn composition, which matches the emotions connected to the song.

**Three Stars**

15. "Waitin' On You"

This is a nice and slow one from him which gets the artist really calming you down with his soothing vocals which seems to speak to you on another level as he truely shows he has got true Soul. As the song-writing is a little predictable, I believe that this is what drives it hear.

**Four Stars**

16. "Remarkable"

On this song, you get him going for a a challenging you as he sings out a proposal. It is a very well-written one which gets him pouring out his heart in order to passionately express the love which he has for his girl, and how he simply cannot live without her for the rest of his life. The arrangement is great and suitss the fact that he is going for the nineties slow jam style.

**Three Stars**

17. "Ready, Willing & Able"

Here is a smooth, and very general song within the album. It gets the performer doing one where he tkaes the essential elemnts of a love ballad, and an eighties slow jam, and fuses them together to come out witha strong tune which is exclusively suited for a female fanbase (unlike how the rest is quite open).

**Three Stars**

18. "Love Is Here" (Lude)

19. "Forever"

This one seemed to be here as a comparison to the short song (essentially an interlude) which came just before it as it has him pull out all the stops whilst doing another ballad. For this one, he takes things one step further than before with melodies with great similarities to Whitney Houston's "Greatest Love Of All", and it really makes it stand out.

**Three Stars**

20. "For Moms" (Outro)

"Gheto Love" is a stron album from Jaheim, and I believe that the length of it is what let it down as when you have such a long album, you are bound to let a few more weak ones through, despite the fact that you may e an exeptional performer (which he is). This is some great R&B, and shows how far R&B has changed since the early 00s, as it merges with Hip Hop to further levels.
