Advantages: Perfect adult pop, great arrangements, some brilliant songs Disadvantages: vocally weak at times, a couple of weaker tracks
...'Amorino' is IsobelCampbells first solo release. The former darling of Belle and Sebastian initially formed the under rated band 'The Gentle Waves' on splitting from the band and ex Stuart Murdoch. This album sees greater progression and she stamps her originality on it content wise. Isobel provides us with a 13 track album that is at lush whilst being fragile and as you would expect from an ex Belle and Sebastian member, intimate.

'Amorino'. The title track is a sad lament and decorated with flute. It has a very Europen sound to it and this is further reitereated by the fact that the majority of the lyrics are in French. It is a gentle opener on a gentle album but is melodic and creeps inside your head after a few listens.

Isobel
I'm No Angel
My Life

I really like the popular and well known songs like Thankyou and Here With Me. They are in my opinion the best songs on this album because they have such an emotion in them. Isobel is very good too. Poorer tracks are Hunter and Dont Think Of Me- they just dont do it for me sorry. This is an average CD. I think it is better for older generations really as it is a bit soppy and has a lot of emotion in it which I think it is difficult for young people to fully understand. Anyway this is an average album, a bit over rated but alright for a CD rack filler....

In the 1980's Lynval Golding, Neville Staples and Terry Hall formed the band 'Fun Boy Three' they wrote hits such as 'Our Lips Are Sealed and The Lunatics Have Taken Over The Asylum' which are both on the album tracks 12 and 15.
The specials songs have a funky , fast and fun beat and all use the trumpet and trombone whereas the Fun Boy Three sonds are more slow and dancy which gives the album a good range of genre.
