The Greatest Story Ever Told

Advantages: Really Raspy Energetic Sound
Disadvantages: None

. --------------------------------------- With a name that sounds more akin to your favourite local, Chicago's best punk rock export, the Lawrence Arms, return with an intelligent and moving album that glows eternal. 'The Greatest Story Ever Told', their fourth album, is a bold statement of intellectuality and cadence ; its power surges accompany a warming, gently tugging at your fingers before ripping right into your insides. Formed at the very end of the last century, 1999 to be exact, the Lawrence Arms, which consists of Brendan Kelly (bass/vocals), Neil Hennessy (drums) and Chris(guitar/vocals) have continued to use a dual vocalled approach, allowing the gruff but decisive voices to layer themselves over the guitars in perfect harmony, Making the most of comedic lyrics, the Lawrence Arms balance their art and literary entrys, lending a part of the album to every and any personality ...

A Chilling Ghost Story

Advantages: Easy to read, simple story with lots of detail
Disadvantages: It wasn't long enough!

mysterious happenings occur which leads Freddie to discover some long forgotten history and, in turn, stumbles across the letter. This book was originally published under the title ?The Cave? which was a novella (short story) aimed at adult emergent readers. On reading the book you can understand why. It very clearly has a beginning, middle and an end which was probably how you were taught to write stories at school. The beginning is when Freddie goes to visit the shop keeper, the middle is his story about his time in France, and the end goes back to the shopkeeper so you find out what the letter actually said. Kate Mosse has published, among others, Labyrinth and Sepulchre, both of which I have read and really enjoyed. I felt that The Winter Ghosts was quite a flat story in comparison to these. In both Labyrinth and Sepulchre there are 2 ...

Ghost Story (1974)

Advantages: oooooh scary biscuits
Disadvantages: special effects are none existant

Ghost Story is a strange horror film from 1974. It was directed by Steven Weeks and it is one of my favourite films of all time. This is a DVD review, however, there is no additional footage, there are no out-takes and it looks like it has been converted straight from film. The original was from 1974, so it is unlikely that additions would be available. It was hard enough tracking the film down in the first place ! WARNING>>>>> PLOT SPOILER !!!! The story is about three friends from university, going down to a mansion that had been giving to one of them upon his graduation. It is an old mansion, that he, (McFaden), knows is haunted. He does not make the other two guests aware of this however. McFaden is played by Murray Melvyn, and he is creepy enough, but he has a sort of gayness about him the whole way ...
