Released with the film in 84 this is one of a rare breed in that the tracks contain sons purley from the film. Each song represents some part of the film and you will remember sections from listening to each of the tracks.
The cd is a mixture of 80s up beat go and get em type tunes, love sequence tunes (for the dana and peter bits) and orchestral themes from iconic moments eg the guys getting the money to buy the hq, walking through the haunted apartment building of dana's and the various sequences with Walter Peck. Plus it includes that iconic hit from Ray Parker Jnr now used for 118 adverts!
Tracks
Ghostbusters - Ray Parker Jnr. The main hit that bought this whole album togther and the main reason why people would buy it. A classic 80s hit. 'Who You Gonna Call!?'
Cleanin Up The Town - Kevin O'Neal. Played when the guys go to their first job at the hotel where they find Slimer. Up tempo swing song with played with a lot of piano
Savin The Day - Bobby Alessi. Quality track that is played during the lead up to meeting Marshmallow Man. A really up lifting feel good 80s track similar to those affiliated with the Rocky films. Inspiring
In The Name Of Love - Tom Bailey. Slower song attached to Peters various meetings with Dana
I Can Wait Forever - Same as before but still a good song. Id love it to go back to the action related songs
Hot Night - Here we are. Features during the containment unit explosion and good synths are used in this one. You can tell as soon as it starts its from the 80s!
Magic - Same again. Another good track
Main Title Theme - Orchestral addition to the album using plenty of strings and elevating atmosphere
Danas theme - Slower but still orchestral. A nice piece
Ghostbusters - Ray Parker Jnr. Not sure why theyve added this again. I think from memory it was an extended version but no different from track 1!
I think a must have for all massive ghostbusters fans. Each song will ignite images in your head of a part of the film without fail, for those who are not massive fans, the ghostbusters theme is a classic and the inspiring 80s tunes are worth getting involved in
