...Did you know that when Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band got bored with the military uniforms, they just re-christened themselves Eddy and the Falcons, changed into drainpipe jackets and rearranged their quiffs instead? Not only that, but they invited some mighty illustrious guests, including Elvis, Gene Vincent, Del Shannon, Neil Sedaka and DuaneEddy, to appear on their album. Did you know I was talking nonsense? Well, yes - now here comes the serious bit. This was Roy Wood & Wizzard's rock'n'roll concept album (of sorts). As usual Roy wrote all the songs, in late 50s style this time, and copied their vocal and instrumental styles to a tee. The results are exceptional; the instrumental "Eddy's Rock" out-Duanes the King of Twang, and "Everyday I Wonder" captures the essence of "Runaway" in every manner you can think of...

Advantages: Lots of Great Songs From The 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's Disadvantages: None
...Without a doubt, the music in the Forrest Gump movie (starring Tom Hanks), played a major part in its success. So for any 'Forrest Gump' fans, The Soundtrack is a must. It's a double CD and contains 32 songs, many of which were featured in the movie. Listening to the album certainly takes you back to the film. DuaneEddy's 'Rebel Rouser' will remind you of when Forrest was being chased by bullies. Elvis Presley's 'Hound Dog' will cast your mind back to when Forrest was teaching Elvis to swivel his hips, and Scott McKenzie's 'San Francisco' was played when Forrest's friend Jenny, left for California. This album has lots of great songs from the 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's. There are several songs however, which weren't in the movie, such as The Supremes 'Stoned Love', and The Rooftop Singer's 'Walk Right In'....

...This is a double album from 'Friday night kiss' - so as you'd expect, it's packed with pumping club choones. This is the best of house music from 1999.
It contains 36 tracks including: 'You don't know me' - Armand Van Heldon featuring Duane Harden, 'You should be....' - Blockster, 'Gym and Tonic' - Spacedust, 'Insomnia' - Faithless, 'Praise you' - Fatboy Slim and 'Straight from the Heart' - Doolally.
Personally, I like about half the album, as a lot of it's not really upbeat enough
Buy it if... you like dancing round your bedroom!...
