Advantages: 7 Star Trek Episodes with Jean Luc Picard Disadvantages: That there was not any more episodes on the discs!
I was thrilled to get this box set from my young lady for my birthday. I have always beena trekkie and started watching Star Trek during the Picard Next Generation Era so To find this in my presents was a pleasant surprise.
The box set is 2 discs containing a total of 7 The Next Generation episodes selected specially from the 7 series of the hit TV show.
DISC ONE
1) Allegiance
Unbeknownst to the crew, Picard is kidnapped and replaced with an exact replica.
While in his quarters, Picard is taken from the ship by an alien energy beam and held in a room with three other hostages: Tholl, a peace-loving Mizarian; Haro, an Algolian and Starfleet Academy cadet; and Esoqq, a beast-like member of the Chalnoth race. Its a race against time for Picard to get back to the ship before the imposter does any damage to the ship ...

As you can probably tell by the amount of book reviews that I post, I am an avid reader, and I do like to try a wide range of books and authors. I tend to stick to the chick-lit genre, although I do stray occasionally, but there is plenty of books in my preferred genre to keep me busy! I'm terrible in that if I don't like a book, I don't usually go back to that author. One such book was PS, I Love You by Cecelia Ahern - I hated it. But when I saw her new Christmassy looking book in the library, I thought it was worth one last try with her material.

THE GIFT

The Gift is the first book in Alison Croggon's Pellinor series, which begins with The Gift and ends with The Singing. This tetralogy (or quartet, as Croggon herself refers to the books), is aimed at young adults, and is a very descriptive account of the adventures of a young girl called Maerad. The story takes place in the world of Edil-Amarandh, and the books are based on ?The Riddle of the Treesong?, or ?Naraudh Lar-Chanė? in Annaren, the language spoken in Annar, which is a region in Edil-Amarandh.

Ponty's mid-'80s recording THE GIFT OF TIME is ultimately one of his best of the decade. He pares his backing band to a trio, and the three make do with an intimately shared merging of instruments acoustic, electric, and electronic. The extremely well produced THE GIFT OF TIME contains a number of ravishing moments. The silken violin pluck of "Metamorphosis" and the amazing title track hark back to the glory days of ENIGMATIC OCEAN but reap far more immediate technological rewards. Ponty lays down some exquisite MIDI-violin chords, under which percussive beds gel and whorl. The atmospheres Ponty broaches with his extraordinary violin playing move subtly from melancholy to triumph to awe and back again. The band kicks out the jams in a wondrous climax. TIME is thrilling stuff from a musician who has arguably never failed to make a satisfying recording.
