First if there any one tree hill fans out there you will heared one of his songs already, (The Mixed) this is a great song, the song video is set in tree hill as Jack's Mannquin walks aroud town, After appearing on one tree hill Jack's Mannequin fan base grew as the show was a great way of getting millions of people to listen to his songs. The song the Mixed Tape lyrics relate to the show with Jack's Mannequin being similar with lucus in way of the storyline.
The secong song Dark blue is a song everyone will love. it has great lyrics and the music fits perfectly which creates an amazing song.
Advantages: Beautiful voice, uplifting, features the melodic sound of piano Disadvantages: slightly slower tempo than songs on 'everything in transit' album.
...Transit', In my opinion 'The Glass Passenger' benefits from some amazingly upbeat songs, and also some more sombre, heartfelt songs about Andrew's past experiences. I think that 'The Resolution' and 'Crashing' are the best songs on the album, and will appeal to anyone who is a fan of the alternative rock/punk music, without the screamo sound! Album Notes: Jack's Mannequin: Andrew McMahon (vocals, accordion, kazoo, piano, Hammond b-3 organ, keyboards, glockenspiel, hand claps, foot stamps); Bobby "Raw" Anderson (guitar, kazoo, background vocals); Jonathan Sullivan (talk box, bass instrument, upright bass, hand claps, foot stamps); Jay McMillan (drums, hand claps, foot stamps). Personnel: Aaron Dixon (guitar); Jim Wirt (kazoo, background vocals); Carlos Sosa (saxophone); Fernando Castillo (trumpet); Raul Vallejo (trombone); The Grooveline Horns (horns); Patrick Warren (pump organ, chamberlin, keyboard, bells); CJ Eirksson (drums, tambourine, programming); Max Coane (percussion, programming); Chris Rezanson (programming); Stacy Clark, P.J. Smith (background vocals). Audio Mixer: Chris Lord-Alge. Arrangers: The Grooveline Horns; Patrick Warren. On 2008's THE GLASS PASSENGER, his second album fronting Jack's Mannequin, singer/keyboardist Andrew McMahon presents a vibrant set of emo-pop tunes. The survivor of a rare form of leukemia, McMahon imbues every song on PASSSENGER with an appealing amount of seriousness, as evinced in the urgent "Bloodshot" and "The Resolution," a hope-filled tune directly informed by his illness.
Album Reviews: Rolling Stone (p.71) - 3.5 stars out of 5 -- "THE GLASS PASSENGER is a candid portrait of survival that reunites McMahon with the piano rock of his old band Something Corporate....With plain-spoken songs like these, he's already made a more honest album than many of his emo peers." Spin (p.110) - 3 stars out of 5 -- "[M]atching hyperemotional melodies with his tender voice on dramatic tracks such as 'Swim'..." Alternative Press (p.147) - 4.5 stars out of 5 -- "[I]ts lush instrumentation and fleshed-out arrangements realize his lofty goals....PASSENGER's music often feels like the soundtrack to a perfect California day."
