Advantages: So many varied top acts to see Disadvantages: too much choice sometimes, weather dependant
After many many years of umming and aahhing about going to what is the daddy of all UK festivals. I was finally coerced into going after being told I can crash in someone's caravan instead of enduring all the non-fun and games of having a tent. Do not get me wrong, I love camping, I love taking things back to basics but a plethora of friends horror stories involving tents and Glastonbury meant that the basics involved at the festival were far too basic even for me. So with £155 ticket in hands and with a 1974 caravanette swaying worryingly behind our car, all resplendently clad in beige, brown and orange,(three colours that thankfully have stayed in the 70's) we hit the festival late Thursday night and seemed to have missed much of the traffic, with delays only actually at the entrance itself.
The caravan fields were already a sea ...
Advantages: Great atmosphere, chance to see many small bands in one place Disadvantages: Price. Of everything.
the opportunity to explore all of the green hippy stuff. Near the stone circle and the renamed Shangri-La, you could learn to be more creative (ie practice as a stonecarver, a glassblower, a silversmith, etc). This took up a good few hours (especially with regular breaks for a Brothers cider).
Neil Diamond had one of the biggest crowds of the festival, and played Daydream Believer and others. Not too bad, although of course he was showing his age. Katie Melua came onstage in the intimate Avalon tent, and played a brilliant version of My Aphradisiaic Is You. This was followed by Slow Train, and later in the set were Crazy and 9 Million Bicycles, in what was the best set of the weekend.
At this stage the ground was fairly dry, and the sun was busy burning people. Over on one of the bigger stages were the Zutons, with a guest in ...
Advantages: appeal to all ages Disadvantages: few songs are repetitive
The twilight soundtrack is a mix of artists from paramore to muse, Its a mixture of styles, ranging from upbeat, rocky sounds to slow melodic sounds.
Some of the songs are very catchy like linkin parks 'Leave out all the rest' and 'decode' by Paramore. Also included in the album is 'Bella's lullaby' by Carter Burwell for all you twi-hard fans!
This album (for me) is something i would definitely recommend to buy as it has music for everyones tastes, and is an album for all ages.
The one thing that i will point out about this album is sometimes it does have a knack of sounding slightly repetitive, and out of fifteen songs i would recommend twelve out of fifteen that are positively cheerful, singalong songs.
I have to say though that having the album out so early does mean that twilight fans have the chance to singalong and get ...

A gratifying re-release of an early-1970s U.K. limited vinyl pressing celebrating the first Glastonbury Festival, this two-CD-plus-DVD period piece boasts live cuts from the Grateful Dead, Hawkwind, and the Edgar Broughton Band, as well as studio rarities by Pete Townshend and Marc Bolan. The pioneering pub-rock band Brinsley Schwarz is represented by a studio recording of Nick Lowe's "Love Song" (its headlining appearance at the festival had been disrupted by the arrival of the guru Maharaj Ji and his chanting followers), and Mighty Baby (the `70s incarnation of `60s mod band the Action, recorded live at the actual event) performs a blend of jazz and Motown called "A Blanket in My Museli" (sic). Interestingly, much of the footage on the accompanying DVD was filmed by the legendary director Nicholas Roeg.
