The plot

This is set in the summer of 1963, seventeen-year-old Frances "Baby" Houseman is on holiday with her wealthy, family at Kellerman's. Baby is somewhat different to her sister Lisa and they both have different outlooks on life, and what they want to do with their futures. She has been named the first woman to hold a position in the U.S. Cabinet. Baby's father, Jake saved the resort owners Max's life and Max has been trying for years to get him up on his mountain.
One evening, Baby goes for a walk and that is when she first sees Johnny Castle, the dance instructor, you can see from her face she instantly likes him. Although she does think he is spoken for by Penny. Johnny is used by a lot of women there, as he is young and athletic, and they just chose to use him for sex, he is quite gullible, and is not used ...

Dunbar was great. He started off as a proper US Army soldier and was always turned out correctly in his uniform but as the film moved on it was nice to see him change and mellow. He manage to show so many different sides to his character and I loved watching him grow. He worked very well with all of the actors playing the Sioux Indians.
The Sioux Indians came across in a very good light and I loved watching and learning how they loved and took care of each other. There were some aspects of them which I was not too keen on, like when they painted their horses for battle and the scary looking dances they did around their fires but this was their way of life so I had to accept it. The main Indians which we saw were Holy man and the white woman who was raised by the Indians. They gave excellent performance sand really moved me at times ...

The Story:
Sara Johnson is an aspiring young ballet dancer, well on her way to making it big. That is, until her mother gets into a car crash on the way to an audition Sara made her mum promise to attend. Distraught from her mum?s death and devastated from her poor audition, Sara is forced to move to Chicago and live with her father. It?s quite a culture shock to Sara and she had trouble fitting in ? a lone white face in a predominantly black school, where security checks and body searches are carried out before you?re allowed into class. A friendly face, Chenille, takes Sara under her wing and introduces her to her brother, Derek. Sara may be an established ballet dancer, but she doesn?t know any hip-hop to fit into the local dance scene. Derek befriends Sara and becomes her dance teacher.
