Album Notes: More than three years after 2004's SUMMER MAKE GOOD, Mum finally unveiled its fourth studio album, GO GO SMEAR THE POISON IVY. Whittled down to the core duo of Gunnar Orn Tynes and Orvar Poreyjarson Smarason (founding member Kristin Anna Valtysdottir departed in '06), but bolstered by five additional musicians, the Icelandic group furthers its warm, glitch-loving electronic sound by adding more acoustic instrumentation to the mix, as exemplified by the string-tinged "Blessed Brambles" and the chiming "These Eyes Are Berries." Often more engaging than SUMMER, this '07 outing finds Mum balancing sing-song-like whimsy and literal bells and whistles with plenty of fascinating sonic experimentation (see the quirky "They Made the Frogs Smoke 'Til They Exploded"), resulting in their finest record since FINALLY WE ARE NO ONE.
Album Reviews: Magnet (p.105) - "It's full of twinkles, seesawing dynamics, calls and responses between live and programmed instruments and choruses sung in a ragtag unison of coos and snarls."
Advantages: some amazing songs Disadvantages: ummm not many
...Boring, boring, boring, isn’t there any good songs on the music channels. Flicking from MTV2, to SCUZZ, to KERRANG, there is nothing interesting on. All of this music is boring, im so bored im going to scream. Ooooooo wait what’s this then On SCUZZ? Some band called bullet for my valentine. There not too bad. Music is good and so is the vocalist. The video is kind of interesting as well.
It was sometime early last year and I was so bored, there was nothing to so. So I was annoying all of my family by flicking around on the music channels (my mum hates it when I don’t stay on one channel) anyway there was no good music on. Until this band came on called bullet for my valentine, the song was called all these things I hate. In fact it was very good. At this point I was just discovering the joys of metal music so I was still into pop...

Advantages: Great, easy listening music, Nice tunes, Range of different styles. Disadvantages: A bit tedious if listened to too often.
...Being a huge Geri fan, I couldn't wait to grab Geri's latest album when it came out in 2001; and with all the top ten hits it's had, obviously everyone else was eager as well.
'But she used to be in the Spice Girls,' I can hear you saying. 'How on earth could anything she do be any good?'
I can see your point, but when she left them, Spice became Not-nice, and she was left to make some cracking good music.
So, after her first album 'Schizophonic', Geri - flushed with success - decided to make another. After a long wait, it arrived, and I haven’t stopped listening to it since.
It is a twelve-track CD, with a variety of different styles of song, so there's something for everyone:
Track List:
1. Scream if you wanna go faster
2. Shake your bootie cutie
3. Calling
4. Feels like sex
5. Circles round the moon
6. Love...

Advantages: Easy listening music from a talented young girl Disadvantages: none
...I really like Avril Lavigne. I heard her track “Complicated” and really liked it. Every time it came on the radio I found myself singing away to it and then she released “Sk8er Boi” and I found myself belting that one out in the car as well. My hubby said he also like her so off I went to buy her album. Now I am a 29-year-old mum of two. Avril Lavigne is a 17-year-old Canadian girl. What does she have to say that would appeal to me? A lot actually. She is extremely talented and the fact that she writes all her own material just proves she is so much better than the Britney’s of this world. I love her album, which is why I am writing this op, and the fact that there isn’t bad language in it means that my 3-year-old son can listen to it too. He loves “Sk8er Boi” but only knows a few words but it is refreshing that I don’t have...
