a best-of from the years that Moby's been on the

Who Is Moby
Review of Play - Moby by  SkyscraperFanClub

Advantages: A long history of prpducing high quality and astoundingly diverse music.
Disadvantages: Some of his earliest techno work is not so good.

...by compiling them onto a two-CD set 'Everything Is Wrong - Non Stop DJ Mix By Evil Ninja Moby' (Mute, 1996). This era also saw the beginning of Moby writing essays for the inlay cards to his albums, embracing environmentalism, vegetarianism, pacifism and democracy. His final release on 'Instinct' came in 1996, a two-CD set, 'Rare - The Collected B-Sides 1989-1993' and 'Go - The Collected Mixes'. This is the definitive guide to Moby's earlier work, taking in some of his best mixes ('Drug Fits The Face (Drug Free Mix)' is a notable high-point) and other works. This album, like 'The Story So Far', includes his successful attempt at the world record for fastest song ever recorded - 'Thousand' - an unlistenable techno-hardcore monstrosity which accelerates to over 1000 bpm. Also in 1996 came Moby's next album of original material, 'Animal Rights... Read review

Musical Talent In A Box - Moby: Play
Review of Play - Moby by  grown_up_girlie

Advantages: Tantalises your ear buds!
Disadvantages: Probably not too everyones taste!

...**Introduction** For those of you who have read my Moby Play DVD review you will know that I am a massive fan of this extremely talented musician. I have purchased this particular album, 3 times since its release in 1999. This just proves what a fan I am of this highly acclaimed and powerful album that has sold over 8 million copies worldwide! I can't live without the inspirational tunes of this album! Each track means so much to me emotionally and I am about to tell you why with both fact and opinion! I will list some of the lyrics for particular tracks so that you can appreciate for yourself the intensity of this man's composure talents. You will find that most of the albums' tracks have very few lyrics (In comparison to fellow artists) and offer a lot of repetitiveness. I find this all adds to the intensity of this outstanding... Moby Play on.....
Review of Play - Moby by  Scorpio21

Advantages: Very Catchy
Disadvantages: Lots of instrumentals

...When I bought the Moby album I wasn't sure what the other somgs on the album would be like. The reason I bought this album was because I liked the following songs 'Porcelain, Natural blues' There's something about 'Moby,' that is really original. There are 18 tracks on this album and they all sound different, What I mean is that i've bought albums in the past and the songs all sound the same. Honey: Very catchy, a real foot tapper, quite repetitive. 9/10 Find my baby: Not my favourite song on the album, feature Moby saying 'I'm going to find my baby,' all the way through. Although there is a good instrumental going on while he's chanting. 4/10 Porcelain: Very Mellow, calming and relaxing. Quite a slow song, with a fast instrumental in the back ground. Quite a sad tune. One of my favourites, easy to relate to. 10... Read review
