Advantages: brutal SLAYER!
Disadvantages: a few weak songs

...This album is Slayer at their most aggressive. It's a great album to listen to when you're pissed off and angry, in this case, at religion... it seems on this album organised religion has fueled Slayer's lyric writing, this is blatant on such songs as Disciple and God Send Death. If you are Christian or religious in anyway i'd stay clear of this. Musically this is typical Slayer, Agressive fast music with screaming Araya vocals but i don't think they've been the same since the departure of their original drummer... the music and overall writing seemed to flow alot easier on records such as Reign in Blood or South of Heaven. This is still a good record by Slayer, and Slayer fans will still find what they're looking for in it, but they've done so much better with the same musical formula in the past.... Read review

Advantages: The Most Personal Nas album ever
Disadvantages: A few

...". "Made You Look" is the obligatory lead-single, which is virtually void of any commercialism. Im very sure the majority of you have heard this track. The memorable slamming beat is a perfect fodder for Nas' view of hip-hop as he explains that his rhymes are indeed, much more powerful than weapons. Nas basically freestyles on this track, without sticking to one particular subject matter, except maybe old-school braggadiocio. Either way, this track is definetely a head-bobber. Possibly the most honest, and in-depth track in all of Nas career appears here on God's Son in the form of "Last Real Nigga Alive". Nas makes a huge jump in the way-back machine here, taking us back to 1994-1997 time period, moving us up to a bit more of a recent time period, but thats later. Nas basically goes all out and gives us pure honesty, revealing the truth... Read review

Advantages: Superb incorporation of classical scales into Rock, great riffs and leads.
Disadvantages: Rainbow's last album

...the number as Ritchie flies on another classical lead scale as the Intro Riff goes on. The drumming complements the riff beautifully as does White's vocals. The pace of the song continues into the verse, and into the chorus. Ther are some great Vocal Harmoies during the chorus and the words 'Stranger in Us All' are heard. The leads are simply superb in this song - first there's an acoustic patch on which ritchie plays a lead immediately followed by a great keyboard solo by Paul Morris. You have to hear this to believe it..Again, blackmore takes off on a lead patch always emphasizing the influence of the scale. A superb number that just shows that Blackmore is in a class of his own - showing why Deep Purple were such a huge success. Silence, which is the next song, is a very groovy number again standing out for the guitar riffs. Hall... Read review
