They came largely unannounced out of the heaving rock and roll cauldron that is Winnipeg, somewhere in British Canada in the late 80s and the album this track is taken from was their second, "God Shuffled His Feet". The first one was "The Ghosts That Haunt Me" in 1991 and was fairly well ... Read review

...suffer from distractions like/why does God cause things like tornados and trainwrecks?". Stop pointing, are you so perfect then? Mind you, excuses are offered - basically along the lines of "It's your fault, you smell so good, I drifted off for a bit". The style is intelligent pop with a nod to folkier roots. No instrument dominates and apart from Ben Darvill's mouth organ and mandolins, it's a pretty normal combo. If you haven;t heard this album then you really do need to! we all seem to remember the Mmm Mmm Mmm song and all kinda like it but thats where it stops! We forget that the other CTD songs might also be pretty good! Even those of us that own this cd almost forget that we own it! because its never mentioned or played on the radio! but ever time i rediscover it i remember that its in ... ...can't give it more praise, it is just brillianT! a friend has borrowed it recently and i think he likes it so much i might not get it back!

Advantages: I grew up with this album Disadvantages: Where have they gone?
I've always been miffed as to why this album hasnt't received much more praise for its originality, sincerity and all-round musical talent. Brad Roberts is simply sublime on each track, each having a catchy differing tempo. This album stimulates the mind and you cannot listen it passively (i.e like so much music in the charts today which could be played on the radio and they're over before you know it as they don't grab your attention). This album ... ...to relate to what the lyricist is on about. Lyrics such as "How does a duck know what direction south is, or how to tell his wife from all the other ducks" (lyrics taken from track 8), only appear once in a lifetime. Everyone will remember "Mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm", however this album is crawling with songs written in the same vein ('In the Days of the Caveman', 'I Think I'll Disappear now' etc.)
Still available worldwide, its so worth buying. I sincerely ...

Advantages: It's weird and totally wonderful, unique and very catchy Disadvantages: None
...seemed like a weird concept, God popping down for a quick Q&A session. That didn't remotely prepare me for the rest of the album, because,'God Shuffled His Feet', is one of those closer to what I would consider normality.
This music is very catchy, you will more than likely find yourself humming it all day. I feel the Crash Test Dummies are not as widely known as they should be. Most people I know when asked if they liked them either said, "Who?", ... ...think everyone should listen to this album before making a decision on this band. My favourite song on this one is, 'In The Days Of The Caveman', all about life and what we did and didn't have, and the characteristics we share with the apes and monkeys. "No Pyjamas", I agree with the statement but why pyjamas? Only the lyricist can answer that one. Pyjamas, hair and old age do seem to feature quite a lot on this album. An album fascinatingly strange, ...
